Advantages: On a boat, good club nights, easy to find.

Disadvantages: Bit chilly for gigs. Dodgy stairs.

Thekla is a club that, as a bit of a novelty, is situated on a boat moored on the Mud Dock, near Bristol's city centre.

Thekla hosts numerous club nights, almost 7 days a week, and also a number of live music concerts from a range of genres all year round, with ticket prices always being reasonably cheap.

As a concert venue, the Thekla is intimate, and has a reasonably good sound quality. It's one of those venues where you can get right up to (and onto if you're so inclined) the stage, meaning extra close contact to the band! There's also a high chance the band will be at the bar pre/post gig for a chat!

There are numerous club nights held in Thekla, to suit any taste, from dance to electro, indie and even 50s and 60s rock n' roll.

By day, the Thekla is a great little hang out, with a kitchen serving great food at great prices. The drinks are reasonably priced, especially on student nights, and during happy hour!

Summary: Great, quirky club by night, and good food with a relaxing atmosphere by day!
