Sushi is always reffered to as the best drum and bass club in Sheffield but that is just the half of it. I go on a regular basis because of the great stuff you hear in the other rooms such as funk, electro, hip hop soul and reggae. Always a damn fine selection. The promoters do get criticised for letting in too many punters and this i'd have to agree with, sometimes the place can be on the bad side of heaving. The door staff do have a bit of an attitude problem and i have noticed it getting worse recently. Drinks offers are alright (2.50 vodka and rebull). Anyway the reason I like it is because its a club you can go to to dance all night and have a good time, and that its unpretentious. Its also got a decent atmosphere and a good quality clientele.

NY Sushi at the Unit in Sheffield is a good night, one of the best jungle night in the north and plenty of variety with hip hop, beats and all sorts downstairs, but it should be much better. The Unit is too small, with nowhere to chill, and the promoters let far too many people in, and the door staff have more attitude than any outside the hacienda in the early 90s (Now they were evil sons of bitches). It used to be at the music factory (now Bed), a far better venue, with more space to dance, chill, snog, drink, gurn, whatever you wanted, and a far happier, friendlier atmosphere. In fact, if Remedy, the new Friday night at Bed, played more drum and bass and jungle to complement the good variety they've got now, it'd be the dogs.
