Advantages: free entry, free food, free drinks

Disadvantages: not nicely decorated, has a drugs problem

I went out with the people from my new job last night. We went to the ASK restaurant in Brighton and then on to The Zap Club. Its the first time I've been clubbing in Brighton and I can tell you it wont be the last!

The local club where I live is a rip off, I was expecting a club on Brighton seafront to be even worse, but I ended up not spending a penny! (This was on a Thursday night, someone told me it was a student special night...so don't blame me f you don't get the same deal!).

We got to the door, entry was free and they gave us 2 vouchers each to get a barcardi and mixer (not my ideal choice of drink, but you don't say no to a free drink!). There was people walking round giving out more vouchers, if you play your cards right you can have a steady stream of drinks all night!. There was a table in the corner with free food, just small Thai nibbles but free none the less (we had already eaten...we wish we had gone there first!)

The club itself isn't the nicest place I've been to, but it serves its purpose. Being in the arches on the sea front its all long and winding corridors to find anything, it took me 5 minutes to find the toilets. The floor and walls we brick and concrete...painted in odd places. But when you've had a few and it fills up you don't really notice. The music is very bassy and 'underground'. There were a few chart songs from the mid 90's and earlier ranging from "I wanna jazz it up" to Michael Jackson's Bad. There are 2 different dance rooms playing slightly different music. The first one which you see as soon as you walk in was more break beat with people jumping around like nutters. If you climb the stairs and go through a door you come to the other dance floor, a lot smaller but the music was slightly better (in my view anyway).

There was a good mix of people in the club, young and old (well...middle aged). There were some gays there, but again it
was mixed, everyone was having a great time!

There are a lot of drugs around, the stoners were blatant. One woman was trying to grab something in the air that wasn't there and was caressing the wall but everyone was just there to have a good time and everyone was! :o)

The Zap is a club with a really great atmosphere. It wasn't that busy when we were there (it was a Thursday). Apparently at the weekends its packed. If your ever in Brighton on a Thursday night, I recommend The Zap!!
