Disadvantages: Bit Tacky, Pricey at Times, Revolving Dancefloor!

Ah, the Tuxedo Princess. Or the boat, as it's commonly known in Newcastle. I'll try to talk you through everything their is to know about the boat.

Location and getting In

It's pretty well placed for people in the Bigg market or the Quayside, just on the gateshead side of the river Tyne. 5 minutes at most. The queue is bad on a Saturday, but I must admit the queues are nothing like Baja, so this is perhaps the easier to get in option. The bouncers are reasonable, nothing like the apes that guard some nightclubs.

First impressions

It's big with 7 rooms and wow it's on a ship!. Good mix of punter as well on a weekend, which I like with everyone from mid teens to about late thirties and some even older. The idea of different rooms is good as you go to the room with your age group in a way, if that makes any sense. Everyone can feel at home. Can be pricey at the weekend, £6 or £10 to avoid the queue

Rooms

Chameleon Club

The main room which plays dance music, it has a revolving dancefloor! which isn't actually as good as it sounds. Mainly because it's far too packed and you feel like sardines in a can rather than dancers. But secondly if like me you go in pissed, you can feel violently ill at this place, with your stomach turning round at all angles. Good, but not great

Angel Room

70's and 80's music. Bit too small for the hordes in at a weekend, but good music and a good change when you've had enough of the Chameleon Room

Monte Carlo

This is a quieter room if I remember correctly, with a quiz machine and spaces to sit down. This is as good a place as any to warn you, the drinks are a rip off at the weekend!.

Raffles

Listen to a piano player in the background, eat some overpriced food, relax. Good!

Miscellenous comments

It's easy to fall over and a
nother criticism from my friend is that if you are too tall, then you have to duck everywhere. Fairly easy to pull if you want to in my view, or is that just me!. It's also good that you can go out on the decks and get some air, really helps after being in the heat

This club is an oddity. It should be really good, but if you go enough you begin to get fed up. It's a club that I go to not very often now, then I really enjoy it. But you won't want to go all the time. But if you have visitors, take them here and they'll love it!
