Advantages: good entertainment in a friendly atmosphere.
Disadvantages: none
The Viking Hotel Night-club This is situated on the promenade in between Central and North Pier and a great night out. You do not have to be staying at the Viking Hotel but it is free entrance if you are a resident. The entrance fee of £3.50 is very reasonable and the drinks are not too expensive. It is wise to book a table because it is a popular club and what I like about it is that they never have any trouble there. The compere always starts the show by asking people to behave so that everyone can enjoy themselves and that is what a good night out is all about. The compere always gets the audience going with a few jokes, typical Blackpool entertainment and then you see a group or comedian. Little and Large called in for a quick turn and Jim Bowen the night that I was there so you do get to see some good acts for your money. They were advertising their latest video mind you at a price of £6.99 but you weren’t forced to buy one. After the show a disco is put on for those party animals that don’t want to go home, I was one of them. All in all this is a nice club I had a great evening out I felt safe and I enjoyed myself that much I booked to go the following night as well.

- 28/04/01 Will you be keeping away from there while you give up smoking or does that not bother you? Nice op, I will remember this venue when I am next in Blackpool. |
