This isn't the place for all you young clubbers to go, but it's the perfect spot for those of us who can't handle the club scene the way you do it these days. You won't find the latest dance and club music being played here.

The Viking Hotel Night Club is situated mid way between Blackpool's Central and North Piers. The club is actually in the Viking Hotel but you don't have to be resident to use it.

Entrance is just £3.50 and drinks prices are reasonable in comparison with the other pubs and bars in Blackpool.

This place gets very busy (usually full of the 35 plus set!) so it's adviseable to book yourself a table in advance. There is seldom any sort of disturbance at this club and this is partly because of the age of the people it attracts and partly to the fact that the compere always requests that everyone considers other club goers and behaves accordingly. (Now, how would this go down in a club that caters for the younger set? I'd love to see someone try to make an announcement like that.)

Entertainment is of the usual Blackpool type and there are lesser known singers and groups and what I would call 'second rate' comedians. However, I must admit that the entertainment is good value for the money you pay to go in. The atmosphere is rather like what you would find at a 'Working Mens Club'.

One night here was enough for me although the group I was with opted to go again, I found other things to amuse myself with.

It was too smokey and hot for me and there were too many people who could hardly stand by the time the entertainment finished and they started playing music.
