I can't believe I am the first to write an opinion on Zanzibar. I discovered Zanzibar in the last term last year and what can I say...................... Each night I have had a Zanzibar has been one of the best nights that I have had in Birmingham. Why? Where do I start? I have only been on a Monday night but this is how it goes... If you arrive before 10.30 admission is free (After my first time there I have always been so eager to get back I have never missed the 10.30 mark so unfortunately do not know how much admission costs after then but I think its a bout £3) the bouncers on the door are very good and polite. On a Monday there are two rooms open, the smaller one plays R+B and the larger one proper cheesy music from the early nineties and today, I am talking Vanilla ice, Chesney Hawkes, Britney Spears. The dance floor is of a decent size with a raised area near the DJ's box. In the middle of the cheese room is the main bar, on a busy night is can get quite busy so getting served can be difficult, but if you send one patient person to get all the drinks that usually works. The drinks are spectacularly cheap, £1 for a pint of carling (ok so Carlings not that nice but after a few you hardly notice) If Alco pops are more your thing theses are cheap to approx £1.50 for a vodka ice. So we have free entry, cheap drinks, and good music. And lastly we have one of my favourite things........ The toilets. Prior to discovering Zanzibar I spent my Monday nights at the sanctuary Squid) and the toilets there were bad, I guess this had leas me to an appreciation of nice toilets! Zanzibar is always clean, has an abundance of good quality toilet roll and never has queues, a bonus especially of you have had one too many! (Hypothetically speaking that is!) That’s all I can say, if you love cheese Zanzibar on a Monday is great (be warned if you are not into cheesy music you will NOT have a good time) and is to be recommended
      to all.
