Advantages: Cheap, good quality, comes with all the hardware

Disadvantages: Asda have small cups. Obviously.

So my best friend and I moved into our new flat just recently, and both being coffee addicts (at least 6 cups a day, each) and students, we had to find a decent coffee machine that would satisfy our needs and our budget.

I sent him on his way and he brought this 12 cup coffee maker back from Asda. I wasnt very impressed. It was cheap as hell, so I wasnt expecting the quality to be very high. It looked quite tacky on the box, too. Like something I could make in 10 minutes with a chunk of cardboard and some blu-tac.

Alas, a rare thing happened. I was wrong!
This 12 cup coffee maker is in fact a life saver. Forget about the quality of the coffee, that all depends on the beans you buy. But the coffee machine itself is brilliant. It comes with all of the things you need. The jug, the draw for the coffee, the filter etc. It's so easy to use, too. Just put the water in the back, put the coffee in the filter, and flick the On button. Simple!

If you use a whole jug of water it takes about 5 minutes to filter the coffee, but it has a hotplate so the coffee stays heated as long as the machine is turned on. Admittedly, it doesnt keep the coffee HOT, it cools down a bit throughout the day, but not to the point where it isnt drinkable. The only thing I dont like about this amazing machine is that it says it is a 12 cup. More like a 5 cup, really. Asda's "cups" must be really small if they think you can get 12 out of it.

But no matter, it's cheap and it's very very cheerful. It's simple to use, makes good coffee, and it hasnt yet broken down on us. Even if it did, we'd definitely buy another one. It also looks a lot cooler than it does on the box. A very helpful and sexy addition to your kitchen!

Welcome to Dooyoo

What a great review; could just do with the price and if it is hard to clean. I know my one from Woolworths many moons ago is similar to this one (mine was in white) and it was a pain in the teeth to clean, especially as the filter coffee grinds got into the gaps of the machine that would need a cotton bud to remove, otherwise it would go mouldy and a stale smell could soon be found.
