Advantages: Stylish, grinds well

Disadvantages: There are cheaper alternatives out there (but they don't look as good!)

We regularly have fresh coffee in our house and it is an essential item in our kitchen, but it goes hand in hand with our coffee grinder. We quite like funky looking electrical items and accessories in our house and the stylish Bodem brand is a firm favourite.

Priced at around £30, it isn't the cheapest coffee grinder out there, but it is the best looking! I'm not quite sure what it is about kitchen electrical appliances, but they all seem to look bland and boring, so this Coffee Grinder will certainly add a bit of zing to any kitchen. Available in a range of colours, you could have a black one which will suit any colour scheme / décor, or you could be a bit braver and go for the lime green! We have the red one as most of the accessories in our kitchen are red so it fits in really well. Part of the Bodum Bistro range, it will fit perfectly with parts of the range including the toaster, kettle, etc.

The Bodem coffee grinder is really simple to use (and clean) and you simply hold down the top of the grinder until you have the desired consistency for the coffee. The longer you hold it down, the finer the grade. The lid is transparent so it's easy to see the fineness.

I also like how the cable can be stored underneath the body of the grinder. It is a pet hate to have long cables strewn all over kitchen worktops and this reduces that and keeps it looking pretty! Made from stainless steel, plastic and rubber it certainly looks the part, and for anyone familiar with the brand of Bodem, it is straight away noticeable as Bodem with its rubber casing (and the 'Bodem' writing helps too!). The small size of the grinder means it can pretty much live on your counter if you want it too. It doesn't get in the way and fits in nicely next to a coffee /espresso machine.

The coffee produced grinds at a consistent texture but it is only meant for private consumption, so if you start putting a lot of coffee in here, I would imagine it would struggle slightly. One thing I will mention, although I think this is a general for most coffee grinders to be honest, but it is a little awkward to get all of the ground coffee out of the machine without pouring the appliance in some way. You can spoon the majority of it out but as the blade is at the bottom, this gets a little awkward so you do have to tip it to get the last bits out.

4 stars for Beautiful Bodem.
