Advantages: Great prduct, easy to use, variety of drinks it can make
Disadvantages: Pricey if brought a full price
I had been looking at coffee machines for a few months but was unsure of which one to get and also I was a little worried it would be a novelty that I would use for the first few weeks then it would sit on the side collecting dust. I was then sent an offer from costa to get the machine for £30 now I am one for a bargain and couldn't resist at this price so I ordered mine in no time at all and two days later it arrived. I was expecting it to be quite a big machine so was surprised at how small the box was and how light it was I was just hoping this wasn't going to effect the quality of the machine.
Price
As I said before I was lucky only to have paid £30 for my machine where as the rrp for this machine is around £99. Having now had the machine for 9 weeks I would definitely say it is worth it although if I hadn't used the machine before I would have been a bit put off at the rrp price.
Set Up
When I opened the box there was my machine with the water tank that you fill up and connect to the back of the machine. There was also some instructions and wait for it whooooppppie a £20 voucher for T20 pods!! Before you can have your first drink you have to filter the water through the machine which does take around 20 minutes but this is only a set up it is not what you have to do each time.
Once you have followed the instructions you are then ready to make your first cuppa!
Making the drink
The first drink I made was a Costa Latte. Now whe you open your packet you will find two seperate boxes containing your pods. One will be the coffee and one will be the milk. There are instructions on the side of the box telling you in what order you use your pods with the latte you put the milk in first and then close the lid and press the big round button. The Milk will then dispense into your cup. when the light on the top of the bottom turns orange you can then put your coffee pod in and repeat the steps. You have to throw the pods away after use. There is no cheating by filling the pods up as they work on a barcode system there is actually a little barcode reader in the machine!! Now when you do your coffee there is an option to make it stronger by holding down the big button when the second green light comes on.
T20 Discs
This machine is great for all the family as it isn't just a coffee maker there is a whole range of hot drinks you can make many of which you can try out using your £20 voucher! I was always a Costa addict so I opted for the Costa Latte, Capaccino and the Milka Hot chocolate! The packs work out around £4.99 which is for 8 drinks so is cheaper than costa and these are HOT not warm like costa store drinks!
I have seen in Sainsburys the Costa pods go on offer at £3.69 so best to stock up then. On the front of all the packets they also tell you the size of the drinks. My Latte is Large and fills a standard size mug to the top whereas the hot chocolate is only 3/4 full but you can press the button to add water to fill the cup up more.
Overall
I have had my machine for 9 weeks now and I am still using it as much as the first week so is definitely not a novelty. Three of my family members have since brought their own machine after trying mine so it is definitely a hit. It is so easy to use and also very quick and I seem to be saving myself a lot of money from not drinking in Costa and having my drink at home!
Even my niece and nephew love the hot chocolate and fight over who gets to use the machine. One good thing is the machine itself is not hot to touch which is a bonus.
Look out for this machine on offer and snap it up it is an amazing little machine who I couldn't live without now. I am looking forward to trying some of the other discs with a range of 40 different drinks so far!
