Breville Brita Filter Kettle
Advantages: Intelligent filtration system, illuminated handle, switch-on boil, free Brita maxtra cartridge
Disadvantages: A little heavy for the use of older people, slightly pricey replacement water cartridges
I have recently purchased the Breville Brita VKJ594 Filter Kettle in order to replace a previous kettle which no longer funtioned. I purchased the Breville Brita Filter Kettle in silver as it looked better with the colour scheme in my kitchen. There are however, other different coloured designs available. Firstly, I am impressed with the innovative, intelligent filtration system which this filter kettle has. In my opinion, two of the best features the VKJ594 model has is that it includes an illuminated handle and switch-on-boil. Futhermore, it also comes with a free Brita maxtra cartridge which is a bonus!
The Breville Brita Filter Kettle functions effectively on 3000 watts and 3 kW. The capacity of the kettle is quite good at 1 litre. A positive aspect of this kettle is that it contains a hidden element and that it has the capacity to boil quickly. For those customers who are concerned with safety in the home, this Breville Brita Filter Kettle is excellent because it has boil dry protection provoking the kettle to automatically switch off when the kettle contains no water. In addition to this, the kettle has a safety cut-out device included.
In terms of hygiene it is important to note, that this kettle by Breville has a removable, washable limescale filter. It also filters chlorine. It is impressive that this kettle can both filter and boil water effectively. The cartridge life indicator is an additional feature which is useful in showing you when it needs to be replaced. I am also impressed with the illuminated water window which always catches my attention because it is easy to see when the kettle needs to be refilled. The use of blue illumination when the kettle boils is also an advantage of this model.
I can confirm that this Breville Brita Filter Kettle is easy to fill and easy to pour water from. Thankfully the kettle also has a comfortable, closed ergonomic handle and automatically switches off. The 360 degree base which this kettle boasts alongside its non-slip feet are also pleasing features of this model. One of the best things about this kettle for me is that it comes with a manufacturers 1 year guarantee in the event that there are technical problems to be repaired. I purchased my Breville Brita Filter Kettle from Argos price 39.99 pounds and I got a free pack of Typhoo Tea Bags to make a nice and well deserved cuppa! This offer ends on July 20th 2012.
The weight of this kettle is 2.3kg which maybe a little heavy if it is for the use of an older person. A slight disadvantage of this product is that the Brita Maxtra replacement water cartridges are a little pricey priced at 6.99 pounds for a pack of 2 and 16.99 pounds for a pack of 6.
In all honesty though, I am pleased with the features and functioning of my Breville Brita Filter Kettle and I really hope it lasts longer than the 4 years I had my previous kettle! Why not grab a kettle for yourself and give it a try? In my opinion, the pros outweigh the cons!
Summary: An innovative and smart kettle designed by Breville Brita which filters water
