About The Product

Made by Kenwood, this is their CM024 kMix Coffee Maker in peppercorn black, weighing 2.22 lbs and made of cast aluminium and stainless steel, width is 26cm, height 29cm. The machine has the capacity for 6 cups and features the ThermoGen heating system allowing for perfect filter brewing temperature.

Inside the box alongside the coffee maker is a glass carafe, permanent filter plus paper filters, an Instruction manual, a registration card and of course a UK plug.

My Opinions & Experiences

I bought this early 2010 to replace my old filter coffee maker which after a couple of years of hard graft had decided to call it a day. I purchased it on Amazon and a few days later it was delivered, it was well boxed and upon taking the machine out I was very happy with how it looked. Placing it in the kitchen it blended well with other appliances, it is black (peppercorn black to be precise) with a silver metallic finish in other areas. I think it looks very stylish and is quite a small machine allowing plenty of room on the worktop, non-slip feet help to keep it secure.

I started using it there and then, it is operated using a one touch control so that everything is kept very simple. One of the great features is the storage area to warm your cup while you wait, originally I didn't think it was such a great idea but I quickly learned to appreciate this and now it is second nature. The glass carafe has a good grip and water markings on the glass allow you to prepare correctly, this has a capacity for 6 cups but for large mugs 3 is about average which is more than enough for myself, a full glass carafe will be ready in around 6 minutes.

There is a permanent filter which comes with the coffee maker so you don't have to keep buying the paper ones, though if you prefer the paper filters you can still use them.

The ThermoGen system is probably the best part of the coffee maker, it produces the perfect temperature for brewing the coffee. If you have ever had a drip of coffee land on your hand before from a similar machine then fear not, this one has a non-drip feature which thankfully eradicates this issue.

In Summary

To summarise it is a great coffee maker, the ThermoGen system and the heating of the cups, along with the non-drip feature combined with the way it looks and fits just make it an all round 5 star machine that I highly recommend.

Summary: Excellent coffee maker, safe and easy to use and most importantly makes a great cup of coffee
