Advantages: easy peasy to use!!
Disadvantages: quite expensive, but worth it!!
hated coffee, until my friend made me try one of her coffees made from this! i instantly had to buy one!! dolce gusto in english means sweet taste, and it definitely is that!! Espresso coffee machines have been around for a long time now and are still very popular, there are a lot of different makes but i don't think any can even be compared to this! With other machines the problem is you normally do everything manually from measuring the correct quantity of coffee to put into the machine and to having to clean the machine after every use but because of the pods it makes it easier, you just have a restriction on what drinks you can have, but there are so many to choose from so that shouldn't be a problem. (i mention some of the makes later). I have a friend who has owned a Gaggia coffee maker before which made great coffee but was a lot of hassle mess and took a lot of cleaning, and that cost over £400 so this is definitely worth the money!!
As soon as you unpack it you'll see that it is easy to start using straight away, just fill the water tank and get your free samples out! Most drinks only require one pod, but others like the hot chocolate require 2 pods. I would suggest to use a mug or large cup if you are making a hot chocolate, which are amazing by the way! When i bought this i thought, 'yeah i'll use it for a bit, but then it will probably just get bunged in the cupboard and won't use it again' but i was wrong! I use it almost every day! It is so simple to use! like really simple!
Choose what drink you fancy and lift the flat lever at the front. Pull the pod holder out and place in the drink in the space and push the holder back into place. Fill the back with hot water. Move the antenna handle on the top to the right. Click into place. (dispenses the hot water) The antenna automatically moves back to the centre when the correct amount of water has been dispensed. Lift the front release lever again, pull out the pod holder and throw away. oh and make sure you have a cup underneath haha :)
You can get so many different flavours such as:
Caffe Americano - 16 drinks
Cappuccino - you get 8 drinks
Chococino - you get drinks
Expresso - you get 16 drinks
and so so so many more!!
The boxes are normally about £4 each for a box of eight. Depends what type of drink you buy i think:)
Each box you buy can earn on you points on their website for free samples or accessories!
I got this about 3 years ago I would think, and i know i got it on offer for about £50 - £60, which i was worried about paying due to not knowing how much use i would get out of it, but i don't regret it! it is worth every penny! And someone asked about the size of it, it is not that big actually, takes up a corner on my work surface and i don't really notice it's there, probably because i have had it for so long. Just make sure you have a clear surface for it to go on and you will be fine! When packaged in the box the weight of it is 6 Kg, i read that on a site online so i am guessing that is right :) The needle bit needs cleaning every now and then, just because the milk can clog it up :)
