Advantages: Easy to use

Disadvantages: Harder to keep clean

I much prefer filter coffee to instant, so anyone in the same boat knows that a cafetiere is a must in any kitchen.

I purchased the 4 cup cafetiere as I have a space limited kitchen, but more because I thought a 4 cup one would do fine for my needs, and seeing as I make coffee most days, I wanted a cafetiere that I could leave on the work surfaces without taking up too much space (may sound silly, but I really do have minimal space)!

Seeing as cafetieres are all pretty much a standard design, I wont bother going into the ins and outs of it!
My biggest issue with this is, although none of the cup measurements for cafetieres are designed to be huge, I don't drink my morning coffee out of a tiny cup, I use what I'd consider an 'average' size cup. Bearing this in mind, I certainly don't manage to get 4 cups worth out of it, more like 2.

Even when having guests round and using smaller coffee cups, I usually find I have to make 2 lots of coffee to get 4 'decent' cups worth out of it.
I think when this one gives up the ghost, it may be worth me investing in a larger one.

Although I'd say it is fairly easy to keep clean, I do find that you get coffee stains under the metal casing which is really hard to remove.
There is the bigger issue of the metal mesh filter being so sharp around the edges. Other cafetieres I've used have had similar issues, but I was hoping that spending out a few pence more would mean you had a 'clean cut' filter.

All in all I'd say a reasonable item, but I'd recommend investing in a slightly larger size if you like your coffee.

This item can currently be purchased from the John Lewis website for £29.

Summary: Could buy a cheaper equivelant that does the same job

Welcome to Dooyoo.
A good all round review here. Could help to add in the price of it.
