Starting your day the right way is very important and for a lot of people the first thing they reach for in the morning is a nice hot mug of coffee. That's way I got this particular machine. Not because of it's fancy modes that it may have plenty of, of which I'm totally unaware.
No, the reason I got it was because it wasn't expensive like a lot of these machines can be and I've since learned that I makes a nice cup of Joe.

This machine is mostly made of plastic, strong plastic, but plastic all the same. It would look good on most if not all kitchen countertops. Because of it's strong red central panel and blue circular control panel. There are stainless steel effect sides on both sides of the machine, and the top, bottom plate and jug handle are all matching black plastic. The jug is made of strong glass and can hold up to twelve cups.

The top of the coffee maker is a pop open hinged lid that when pushed opens to revel the water reservoir.

I use filters on this particular machine although it's not necessary, it makes cleaning a lot easer.
The stay hot heating plate does a good job. And the coffee brews quickly. Starting to gurgle the second you press start. For under fifty pounds you can't go wrong with this machine.
