My mother recently got a new coffee machine from one of her best friends as a gift (although I am aware that it has a high street price of between £22-96 and £23-99) and ever since she got it we have been using it every day to make fresh filter coffee. She has her Nespresso machine but we are big coffee drinkers and as such a filter coffee machine like this is welcomed. In terms of the design, this plastic-stretched helmet like Morphy Richards "Rapide" Graphite 47470 / Europa Filter does what it suggests on the box; it is a filter coffee maker, not an espresso machine and doesn't faff about with anything other than filter coffee. Well, it does not exactly do what it says on the can. Yes, it makes adequate coffee and for less than thirty pounds that is a plus, but there are krupps coffee makers that can do exactly the same for a tenner in Asda as I write. As for the non drip, well that is laughable; this thing drips more than any other coffee maker I have ever used. As soon as you lift the pot away from the main unit you are guaranteed to get at least four or five drips. The hotplate is also a bone of contention, it does not give out a great deal of heat and, as a consequence, if you leave your coffee in the cup more than half a minute after making it, it is nearly cold. The filter is a nice ... Read the complete review

Morphy Richards Europa Coffee Filter By and large, I am a tea man. But I love my coffee too. Thats what led me to finally seek out my own coffee filter after years of Nescafe and Kenco instant. There something to be said for that smoky, contents of ashtray type taste of filtered coffee! ;) I didn't really want to spend a great deal of money for a number of reasons. A member of my family had just spent £80 on a kenwood Filter and Espresso machine and that was just too much for what I wanted. I browsed the stock at the Comet store near my place of work. They had a dissapointingly small range of filters (as did Currys), Seemingly one ... Read the complete review
