We hadn't long given away our coffee maker when a visit to my husbands Aunt introduced us to the world of Dolce Gusto. I'm not a frothy coffee lover myself but the hubby is and I do enjoy a nice strong cup so the choice of pods was perfect for us. When we got our machine Nescafe were doing their points promotion so every now and then we would collect enough points for a free box of coffee... result. The machine itself is a dream to use, so easy and minimum cleaning (you can throw most of the bits in the dishwasher if needs be), and we have only ever had one problem with our machine and that was due to not descaling it, which was really quick and easy to do. Our main problem with the Dolce Gusto is the price of the pods! In the almost three years we've owned it I have never seen the pods on offer, they are £3.70 a box (or there abouts) and if you like your frothy coffee's or hot chocolate that means you only get 8 cups. Nescafe have also pulled their points promotion and we have not received any money off or free samples in over 12 months. They really do need to think more about their existing customers. My Mom also bought one of these but rarely buys the pods anymore, they have turned into very expensive one cup water heaters. :(
