Rowenta Napoli CG 133
Advantages: Efficient and effective, a good priced model, a great coffee is always made
Disadvantages: No extras with this one
When it comes to hot drinks I always tend to go for the cup of tea option as opposed to the coffee but I guess your tastes change and on the odd occasion that I would have a coffee is now getting more frequent, I think the reason is partly to do with the fact we now have a coffee machine in our household. My other half had mentioned one sometime ago but we never really had the room for one but since having a sort out we went off to get on, mainly for him but I am now a coffee convert. It took a great amount of time to decide upon which model to opt for but in the end we got the Rowenta Napoli CG 133 model and here are my thoughts.
The difference in price for coffee machines is vast and I learned this is mainly due to brand of product and the specifications that you want your model to have. We decided on the Rowenta as it came up on a search we did on the internet as well as the fact a friend also has this brand of coffee machine in a slightly different model. The one that we had cost us £24.99 and this was from Argos. The model can be found from Amazon for the same price as well as some of the high street electrical retailers.
The coffee machine came well packaged and with a good detailed instruction leaflet as well as a 2 year manufacturers guarantee. This product was launched in 2001 so it has been on the market for some time now. Once out of the packaging you will see that the coffee maker is black in colour and I felt that it had a good sturdy feel to it but at the same time was light enough to move around. There is a glass jug that comes with the coffee maker and this has a capacity of 1.5 litres which is perfectly adequate for what we needed. It is a stylish looking piece of equipment.
To get started you need to plug it in at the mains, there is an adequate electrical lead, I would say about 80cm long and then there is an on/off button on the front bottom of the product. This is quite a basic model, we did not want anything to fancy so there is no sort of buttons or anything for milk frothers or espresso making but then we just wanted a filtered coffee machine. The process for adding the coffee is pain free and I have always found this safe to use, you do get a plastic scoop to add the coffee into the machine, this is done down at the top of the machine, the other compartment to this machine is where you add the water. There are indicators on the jug and with the capacity you can get about 9 cups of coffee out of the maker.
I have always found this easy to use and you can hear the coffee maker getting to work instantly. It is not to noisy and the smell is almost instant as it start to fill the kitchen, it is certainly very welcoming! The coffee is soon processed and in about 15 minutes you will have a full jug of coffee ready to serve. What I like is that the coffee always comes out boiling hot, when I do have a drink of coffee I cannot stand it to be luke warm and this machine is great at making a warm cup and keeping the coffee warm whilst it stands on the hot plate.
For cleaning, I have always found this to be really easy, warm soapy water gets the jug clean and the filter, which is a swinging one just pops out, I tap any residue onto some kitchen roll and then rinse the filter in warm water.
In summary, I have been very pleased with this model, it is of good quality and I am especially pleased with the price that we paid for it. Easy and safe to use and a good cuo of coffee is always made
4 out of 5 from me
Thank you for reading.
Summary: A great coffee machine
