“ Brand: Asda / Type: Instant Coffee „
I love a good cup of coffee though I don't drink it very often as we all know it isn't all that good for us! However I do buy a jar a week for my flat and when I do I like to buy a decent one which is what led me onto purchasing this Tanzanian coffee when I spotted it.
The coffee comes in a squarish see-through glass jar that has a dark purple label around it and a twist on/off black plastic lid/cap to the top of it. On the front of the jar there is a photograph of a Leopard and we are told that it is Asda 'Extra Special', Fairtrade Tanzanian Coffee 'Freeze Dried Instant' and that it is 'Sourced from the Bukoba district in Tanzania and made using roasted beans for a full, strong and lively flavour'. Other information on the back of the jar tells us a bit about the coffee and the ingredients used, we are told the weight of a jar is 100g and contact details for Asda are listed. Its a nice looking and informative jar this one and rather stylish actually!
A Bit About The Coffee According To The Information Listed On The Back Of The Jar:
This extra special coffee is 100% fairtrade certified. Fairtrade guarantees farmers, in developing countries fair terms and a fair deal so they can enjoy a better standard of living. the additional Fairtrade premium helps fund social, economic and environmental development.
The Coffee Itself:
Well this is simply a lovely freeze dried coffee. Dark and and thick lumps which dissolve fast in water this makes a dark coffee and a strong one too!
Slightly bitter, woody and tangy this is a really strong and rich smelling and tasting coffee that is really luxurious. Drink it with milk, sugar or whatever you like, I find I only need a teaspoon of this to make my coffee and with a lot of other brands I do find that I sometimes need a couple of teaspoons at least so this gets a major thumbs up from me as a strong coffee lover!
Only available from Asda sores costing £2.48 a jar.
