“ Brand: Boaters / Type: Flavoured coffee „
We bought loads of Boaters flavoured instant coffees a while ago when a local shop have a massive selection for only a pound a jar. They are usually a lot more than this. I am going to review them all as they are a bit hit and miss.
There are over 40 flavours of Boaters available. Their website is www.boaters.co.uk and offer free postage and packing on orders over £40. I think it would make a good gift hamper for a coffee lover to select a load of different flavours as a present. They are currently £2.35 for 50 gram jars of the flavoured instant coffees.
I was not impressed with the Boaters double chocolate instant coffee because I expected it to be more chocolatey. I tried that before I tried the Mocha Orange and so was not expecting much but I really enjoyed this drink. In a strange way, it tastes more like a proper mocha than the double chocolate one. You cannot smell chocolate as much when you make it up because the orange is really strong. It is definitely there in taste though.
The orange is strong and dreamy. It smells a lot like a Terrys Chocolate Orange and the taste is pretty close for an instant coffee drink as well. It is a slightly synthetic orange taste, like a chocolate orange but I think this works well. I do not think I would like it if it tasted as though there was genuine orange juice in my coffee!
These granules dissolved easily and are so convenient. I would definitely try this again. It is a little on the sweet side to have all the time but for an occasional treat, it is delicious!
I think this is a great winter drink. It reminds me of Christingle services with the oranges they use! It also reminds me of Christmas with chocolate oranges in my stocking! This is definitely one of my favourite drinks from the boaters range. Although it is an instant coffee, the coffee taste is subtle. It is much more of a mocha.
It gets a thumbs up from me.
