Advantages: Rich, smooth, not at all bitter
Disadvantages: None - whilst slightly pricey it is totally worth it
Me and coffee have never been the best of friends. I used to hate it as a child and as an adult, whilst I have come to enjoy it more, I have only ever had it once in a while, usually in the form of a take away cup of some sort of latte from Starbucks or Costa Coffee. I have tried several different brands at home - as I've always made sure I have some in for guests - and finally I have found something that I actually really really like. For me Carte Noir is the perfect coffee!
The main thing I have always disliked about coffee is the bitterness that is often present. Several years ago the only coffee I would touch was Mellow Birds, though really it is a bit wishy washy. I then moved onto 'normal' coffees such as Nescafe and tried to cover up the bitterness with plenty of milk and sugar. Whilst I will usually prefer a nice cup of tea, just sometimes I fancy a coffee and so I am very pleased that I have found this brand. With Carte Noir, the problem of bitterness is totally gone. It tastes smooth and rich and I find I don't want to add much milk or silly amounts of sugar.
A standard sized jar tends to cost around the £3.50 mark but, as with most things, it is often on offer and I usually pay under £3. Personally I think it is more than worth the cost either way, it is a high quality coffee and manages to be rich and full flavoured without being bitter.
I think most people would enjoy this coffee, it is a lovely product and has given me a new appreciation for coffee.
Summary: A lovely coffee to suit all
