Advantages: Good strong cup of coffee that dissolves well.

Disadvantages: Noe that I can think of

I have long been a fan of Clipper tea and coffee though had never try this particular coffee until a colleague of mine offered to replace the depleted coffee supply. They bought it from our local Co-operative supermarket for £3.29 for a 200 gram jar and it has gone down very well with the rest of the decaf coffee drinkers in the office.

The product comes in a clear glass jar, with a black plastic screw top lid and a foil protective layer, which is easily removable on the first opening. The label shows a green mug of steaming coffee depicted as what look like small leaves dancing out of the top of the mug. Inside the jar is a freeze dried instant coffee made of small granules. The coffee is described as a 'toasty and intense decaf' instant coffee, of medium strength, which is made of Arabica beans and is organic.

The coffee has no artificial ingredients and is certified to international fair trade standards.

I enjoy decaf coffee, but also like my coffee to taste fairly strong, like a proper mug of coffee. I find that the best way to make it is to boil the kettle, add one heaped teaspoon of the coffee to a mug, pour over boiling water and stir before adding any milk. This way you do not get little bits of coffee floating on the top of you milk.

Overall the coffee gives off a mild to medium aroma and also tastes smooth but strong, there is no bitter after taste and the coffee once milk is added has a nice creamy, soft taste that goes down very well. A colleague of mine drinks his coffee black and has said that it is not tart or bitter.

Overall I like the fact that Clipper as a whole are taking responsibility for their products in terms of fair trade and also that the product is organic. I would definitely recommend this coffee to other decaf coffee drinkers, although it can be a bit more expensive that own brand labels, the fair trade and organic label of the coffee give me a sense of drinking a responsible mug of coffee.

Summary: Would recommend to decaf coffee drinkers
