Advantages: Good Price, Good Coffee, Good Times

Disadvantages: Ther is alot of unnecessary packaging

I started drinking coffee at the many years ago when my parents brought me my first Filter machine. It was my uncle who started me on this road of addiction and even had me invest in a coffee grinder and actual beans as he was a coffee purist.

Now, years later I still own the same grinder and aways have coffee beans to make a delicious cup when I have time and kind of a treat. But I was having the problem of filling my need for caffeine with the long procress of grinding beans. My partner returned home from the weekly shop with packets of the medium strength Douwe Egberts.

After hastily making a pot using the recommended amounts on the packet, which states that 1 tablespoon per cup which allows you put in slightly more or less depending on your personal tastes, I was soon sitting with a fresh coffee. My coffee is made with minimal milk and I was surprised to find that it was a very good cup. The strength rating is 3 out of a maximum 5, which according to the packet is a mild & mellow taste which I would tend to agree with.

I can easily go through 2 packets of the 250g packets in a week but for the amount of coffee that makes, it works out a very reasonable price per cup for a coffee taste that is far superior to any Instant Coffee I have tried to date.

The taste and texture is very good, without leaving any bitterness in your mouth and because it's such a mild coffee it really can be enjoyed at any time. I find myself using more than the recommended amount for my morning coffee to give me the kick I need and this seems to work.

I would recommend this coffee to anyone who is looking for a good all round taste. Douwe Egberts isn't going to amaze you with it's taste or quality but will be enjoyed thoroughly nonetheless. I will continue to use a coffee grinder for those special cups now and then but the times inbetween my mug will be full with a very tasty coffee that is also more convenient.

You can locate the Douwe Egberts range in the majority of supermarkets, I have a local poundshop that stocks these so may be worth a look around for the best bargain.

Summary: Give It A Go, You'll Enjoy It
