Douwe Egberts Pure Gold
Advantages: Tastes ok
Disadvantages: Not rich enough for me; Not a very good flavour I don't think
With me and coffee if it's not fresh coffee for my new cafetiere then it's got to be the blue label Kenco, I only tried this Douwe Egberts Pure Gold coffee because they was giving sachets out in Sainsburys the other day and I scored 15 of them because the girl giving them out was my old mate from school! lol
The thing is I'm not mad keen on it so I should have just taken the 1 sachet because I feel a right grabby cow now! lol The sachets come to a slightly heaped teaspoon and that's how I'd have my Kenco anyway so the measurements of the coffee was just right, it's just that the flavour didn't seem as rich or interesting to me as Kenco.
To be fair to Douwe Egberts this is a personal thing because even though it's got a nice smooth flavour it's just not all that rich and deffo isn't a strong enough coffee to get me going in the morning! The flavour is there but I'm not convinced that it's such a good quality coffee as the wicked jar and packaging wants me to think.
It tastes a bit FLAT, I know that sounds weird but what I'm trying to say is that this coffee hasn't got much deepness in the flavour and it kind of just sits in the cup and when you drink it the coffee is just boring tasting. That sounds soooooo mean because other people LOVE this coffee and that was why I couldn't wait to try it but that just shows how everyones taste buds are different and people want a coffee that's going to suit them personal.
The coffee granules are quite big but they mix into the boiling water easy, make sure you ALWAYS add the milk last because with the granules being so big I reckon you'll end up with black blobs in your coffee if you try mixing it with the cold milk already in the cup.
I don't think this coffee is as refreshing as Kenco, I don't mean refreshing as in it chills you out either I mean refreshing like it's going to wake you up quicker in the morning. The taste of it isn't rich enough and there doesn't even taste like there's all that much caffeine in it even though I don't suppose it's much different to any other coffees in that.
Not recommended by me.... not enough flavour in it and this coffee deffo isn't as rich as I want it to be!!!
