~ Maxwell House Cappuccino ~
I am partial to a cup of cappuccino now and again as a change to my usual choice of tea, however my hubby is a massive coffee drinker and buys many different varieties. I used to stick to the Nescafe Cappuccinos until my hubby arrived home one day with a box of these Maxwell House ones.
To be honest I was a little apprehensive about them at first as I expected them to taste cheap and nasty but after a little trial and error I was very impressed.
Unlike the Nescafe ones these do not come with a little chocolate topper sprinkler but they do come in sachets like the other. In the blue coloured box you will find 10 sachets of powder.
The powder is a blend of dried skimmed milk, sugars and instant coffee, when poured into a mug it is a pale cream coloured powder flecked with dark brown bits.
When I made it up the first time, I wasn't overly impressed with the taste, so I added two sugars and a dash of semi skimmed milk and I found then that it tasted really good. My hubby doesn't require adding anything extra to his as he finds the taste to be too his liking but I found it a bit too strong in taste and a bit thin/watery.
My hubby first picked these up in Tesco where they cost £1.99 but I have since been buying them in PoundLand for (of course) £1.
As Nescafe are more in the region of £3 I do feel buying these is good for my pocket, I don't need to add extras to the Nescafe ones but I feel this is a small price to pay as we always have milk and sugar in the house anyway so it doesn't feel like I am having to spend out more for a decent cappuccino.
Thanks for reading :o) x
Summary: A nice cappuccino when I add the milk and sugar!
