Advantages: A genuine and fresh tasting instant cappuccino drink with lush chocolate sprinkles

Disadvantages: Calories

If your work place is anything like mine then the coffee is not of the highest calibre and very hit and miss. I do like to have my own little treats and pick me up and hot drinks are one of these treats that I indulge in, including these Nescafe Cappuccino sachets.

The Box

This is no ordinary coffee; in fact it is a very posh coffee that comes in its own individual sachets portions much like you get in a B & B room. The cardboard box contains six individual sachets of cappuccino coffee. It is coloured with different shades of brown on the box, likely to represent the different shades of colour that you get in a cup of cappuccino and of course there is a delicious looking frothy coffee drink in the foreground.

The box also has the Nescafe branding on the front and their Café Menu logo which are part of a range of speciality coffee's from Nescafe. The back of the box has instructions for use, ingredients and nutritional info.

The Treat

What I love most about these Nescafe Cappuccino sachets is that they come with a sprinkle tub of chocolate powder to finish off your hot drink. There is always lots more of this powder than you would need for the ten sachets and so you have it for other drinks like hot chocolate.

The Coffee

The sachets are the same style as what you get in bed and breakfasts, long and thin made of a thin plastic covering that you tear at the top to open. The powder itself is quite pretty looking with fine grey and brown mixed grains that make up your milk and coffee combination.

To make a lovely cappuccino drink simply boil your kettle, add the entire sachet contents to a cup, then add the just off the boil water to the top of your cup and stir well. You will see that the drink immediately starts to go nice and frothy on the top as a classic cappuccino should, though not overly frothy to the point there is hardly a drop of coffee in it! Then you add you chocolate sprinkles and voila, a fresh tasting coffee shop rival hot drink.

This ready mixed cappuccino drink tastes surprisingly good; there is the creaminess present from the milk and froth and a nice hit of coffee that tastes much better than Nescafe's Original blend. This coffee is not overly strong, but I think if you're having a cappuccino drink then you perhaps want something a bit lighter (or I do anyway!). It tastes lovely, fresh and light to drink and not at all like an instant drink.

One downside with this drink is that it already has sweeteners and sugars in it, which means calories! An 18 g sachet contains 70 kcal, which I think is quite a lot for a coffee drink and so I only really have it as a treat and no more than one a day.

I buy boxes of these often in Poundland (so a box of ten for £1) which is great value, they are also available in supermarkets at a higher price (£1.50 at time of writing).

Summary: A genuine and fresh tasting instant cappuccino drink with lush chocolate sprinkles minus 1 for Kcal
