I love my lattes! In fact last year I had to quit lattes because I was spending far too much at Costa! When my friend offered me her Dolce Gusto machine I snapped it up and stocked up on their latte macchiato coffee pods.
Each box contains 16 pods. The lattes, mochas and cappuccino pods are not as good value as the regular coffee varieties as you need two pods for one drink and all are sold by the 16 for around £3.75. In the box there are 8 milk pods and 8 coffee pods. They are clearly identifiable as the milk ones are coloured white and the coffee, brown. You simply load the milk pod into your machine and fill your mug with the required amount. I recommend latte glasses so you can judge by eye how much milk you need. Next you load your machine with the latte pod and top your mug up with the coffee. The result is an attractive authentic looking latte. I take mine with one sugar.
The Dolce Gusto machine will never create lattes that match the quality of my favourites at Costa Coffee but I am very impressed none the less. I can enjoy a fantastic tasting drink minus the expense. I am not a fan at all of instant coffee and am quite fussy. I am usually a tea drinker so the coffee has to be top notch for me to drink it. I personally could drink my lattes a touch stronger but overall I am extremely impressed by the quality of this coffee. If I were to suddenly be without this machine I would miss it.
