I've not seen these in the supermarkets in the UK for ages now, but they do still seem to sell them in the supermarkets all over Europe. I do travel alot to see friends and family and so I always bring a few boxes of these back with me. They are around Euro2.00 for a box of 8 sachets.
Nescafe Frappe are little sachets of a sweetened coffee powder that you just mix with 250ml cold milk and then pour over ice to create an ice cold coffee drink. You can use any milk type of your choice, obviously this then changes the calories in the drink; the sachets give the calorie content for a drink made with semi skimmed milk - 194 calories.
As much as I like these I do have two slight gripes with them; one is that they are sweetened, I don't add sugar to coffee and so I find that these are just on the borderline of acceptable for me, the second is that sometimes all the coffee powder doesn't dissolve when you stir in the cold milk, the best way to get it to dissolve is actually to shake the powder and the cold milk together in a cocktail shaker.
I have found a way to get around both of my gripes though, I turn the sachets into a 'Starbucks Frappuccino' style drink instead. I only use one sachet to create drinks for two people, and I find that this then solves the sweetness problem, also because I am making the drink in the blender then all of the powder does get blended into the drink, solving the second problem.
All I do is to put two glasses full of ice, 250ml cold milk, and one sachet of Nescafe Frappe in my blender, then blend on the smoothie making setting untill the mixture resembles a frappucinno. Pour into two large glasses and serve, my husband likes a squirt of cream on the top as well, so that it does resemble a Starbucks frappucinno more closely!
I use skimmed milk, and I make one sachet make two drinks, so I reckon less than 100 calories per drink (unless of course you add some whipped cream).
