      Advantages

      Disadvantages

Quite a good product & well worth trying to see if you like it.

I'm not the biggest fan of coffee in the world. I'm not a tea drinker as I do prefer to have coffee in the morning. But I don't have a hot drink before I go to work as I ca't be bothered. I prefer Juice. I do however really like a cup of coffee in the morning when I haven't got to go to work. I like my coffee to be a little weak as I often can't stomach a really strong cup, so when I saw these coffee flavourings on offer in the supermarket I though I would try this & the Vanilla Flavoured Variety. They cost around £1.80 per tub, but I got them BOGOF.

The Latte Creations is a powder which you put in the drink with the coffee & the sugar before you put in the milk. The instructions say to add 4 heaped tea spoons of the mixture to the other ingredients & them add warm but not boiling water. With this mixture you don't need to add milk.

The result is a highly frothy Chocolate flavoured Latte coffee. The froth at the top is light & fluffly & there is quiet a lot of it. You can taste the chocolate flavour although it is very subtle & not very strong. The Vanilla variety has a stronger flavour. The mixture doesn't make the drink any sweeter either. You'd need to add more sugar for that.

On the downside, 4 tea spoons is a lot of the mixture so if you use this every day it won't last very long. Also, as the drink settles, the froth shrinks down a bit, so if you like a full mug, fill it right up to the top near the very edge of the cup to allow for the shrinkage. Last of all, in my opinion the chocolate taste should be stronger. I could taste it but I don't think it was strong enough. In this department the Vanilla variety is much better.

I would recommend the product to people who drink coffee regularly & would like something they can use to add a bit of flavour or spice the drink up a bit. In my opinion though, the Vanilla veriety is a better product & I go for that one. Although at the moment, my local Tesco seem to have stopped selling it altogether!

        Advantages

        Disadvantages

        Makes a nice change.

Coffee gets me going in the morning and keeps me upright throughout the day. Most of the time I drink ordinary instant coffee made with white semi-skimmed milk, but I have a Tassimo coffee machine and I like to indulge in a more luxurious coffee-shop style coffee a few times a week. It's a simple pleasure, but I'm a simple girl.

Unfortunately the coffee for my Tassimo machine is a little too indulgent for my purse at the moment as I'm trying to cut my cloth according to my means, yet I still want a few 'luxuries' in my life. With my love of good coffee and the need to treat myself a little, I decided to give Coffee-Mate Latte Creations a try. These 'creations' come in a variety of flavours; Classic, Mocha, Vanilla, Double Choca- Mocha . I chose to try the Double Choca-Mocha flavour, as not only do I love coffee, I am also a total chocaholic (and have the waistline to prove it).

The Latte Creation comes in a jar retailing at around £2.00 or is available in little paper sachets, each with a tempting picture of a gorgeous frothy, swirly mocha on the front and instructions for use on the rear. So far I have only used the sachets. Firstly I am instructed to empty the sachet into a mug, which I do. The sachet holds 20g of light brown powder, which smells very chocolaty and sweet as it falls into my mug. I am then told to add my favourite coffee (Douwe Egberts is currently fulfilling that criteria) and I add 2 spoonfuls. I like my coffee strong. I then have to fill my mug with hot, not boiling, water whilst stirring the whole time. Finally I can enjoy my latte. Well, not straight away, without the cooling effect of fridge cold milk I do have to let it sit for a while.

The latte tastes delicious. I was hesitant about trying this product because I loathe the taste of powdered milk. I often find it does not mix in well and leaves a filmy residue on the top of my coffee. This Latte Creation however, mixes in well, and all that sits on the top is a fine froth. There is none of the chemical aftertaste that I generally find with powdered milk. My only gripe, and it is a minor one, is that the drink is a little too sweet, but as I often find coffee shop latte too sickly, this is to do with the style of beverage rather than this particular product.

I will buy these sachets again but this is not a drink that I would have everyday. I like to guzzle my coffee straight away once it has been made. I'm too impatient to wait for it to cool. Also, the latte is too sweet (the top ingredient is sugar) for me to have too often and at 83kcals per cup, it's definitely a treat rather than a regular option.
