Starbucks Christmas Blend
Advantages: Special coffee, lovely taste
Ahh, you know Christmas is getting nearer when Starbucks switch to the red take away cups in their stores. Oh how I love those bright red, festive Christmas cups becasue not only does it mean that Santa is on his way but it means that their Christmas blend coffee is back!!
Starbucks coffee is one of my favourite brands of coffee and I have many favourites of theirs that they sell in their stores. They always seem to produce really strong, amazingly bold tasting coffee and this Christmas blend is no exception. This has really become a tradition with me, to buy a bag or two of their Christmas blend right when they bring it out and then pretty much drink it up until New Year and then I like to move onto something else otherwise this coffee is not a special holiday treat if you drink it all year round.
Starbucks also call this coffee, "A holiday tradition!" They describe their Christmas blend as a sweet and spicy coffee blend which they bring back at that special time of year. They go on to say that its a magical coffee blend with sweet and cedary notes, a holiday treat worth waiting for.
I find this coffee quite spicy in both its smell and flavour although it definitely smells more spicier than the actual flavours that comes out when you taste it. Its quite a strong coffee and I find has a really warming and Christmassy feel to it. It is lovely if you add a bit of whipped cream on the top and really make a nice special drink out of it although it can be drunk as just a regular flat coffee too. I would say you can drink this coffee at all times of the day although I most prefer it in the afternoon as a bit of a treat.
You can purchase the coffee in Starbucks shops. It comes as beans in a bag but if you do not have a grinder you can give it to the staff behind the counter when you are purchasing it and ask them to grind it for you then and there. The bag the coffee comes in is wonderfully attractive and Christmassy too. Its bright red and then has a gorgeous snowy Christmas scene on it. The back folds over at the top and has two little plastic tabs at each side to enable you to seal the bag and keep the freshness in so you can store it in here whilst you are using it with no problems. I love to give these bags of coffee as Christmas gifts too to people I know who love coffee as they are smart enough to give as a nice gift and you can always add a mug or some other little trinkets with the gift too.
A lovely Christmas coffee!
