Starbucks Via

I'm a huge fan of a good mug of coffee, not so much the buzz but the taste and flavour of coffee.

I like a coffee even when it doesn't contain any caffeine, but I do sometimes appreciate the stimulating effect that a nice strong coffee can have. My morning wouldn't be complete without it.

The Starbucks Via coffee is quite expensive and can be bought directly from Starbucks coffee shops or found in quite a few of the major supermarkets. I tend to get my fix from Tesco.

The taste is why I keep paying the expensive price tag. The coffee tastes like it would from a coffee shop and not like an instant coffee usually does. I like to take my coffee black, with the odd exception for a lovely soya extra hot hazelnut wet latte (I know a complete mouthful to order but oh so yummy), so I really can taste the difference between varieties of coffees.

At the moment I have both the Italian and Columbian roast Starbucks via sachets sitting in my cupboard over the kettle. And between the two I don't have a firm favourite.

Both have a very rich taste and a strong yummy coffee fragrance. Also the Starbucks via sachets make a nice dark mug of coffee, again resembling fresh coffee rather than instant. I don't have a favourite between the two but I would recommend trying the Columbian roast first it's probably the nicest of the two but only by a hairs breadth.

When you tip the sachet into a mug it does look different from what you might expect. It is really finely ground and dark. There also isn't as much of the coffee as you might expect but it does brew into a lovely strong taste.

I have tried some of the other brands that are bringing out a similar whole ground instant coffee and the Starbucks Via version is still my favourite.

At the moment 7 sachets are on offer in Tesco for £2 - a bargain. The 7 sachet packet is usually around £3.99.

Even despite the hefty price tag for a cup of instant coffee I still want to give Starbucks Via FIVE out of FIVE stars.

I highly recommended it, if you haven't tried Starbucks Via yet and you enjoy a nice cup of coffee I do suggest picking a packet up at some point I'm sure you won't be disappointed.

Summary: Five out of five stars
