Advantages: Nice coffee; Cheap
Disadvantages: Not as rich and smooth as Kenco
I didn't have any intention of swapping my brand of coffee because I'm into the blue Kenco and no other instant coffee is tasty or rich enough. I only brought this Tesco Gold Roast Coffee because my mum texted me to ask me to grab a jar because SHE wanted to try it.
It's £2.64 for a 200g jar and that's good because Nescafe Gold Blend is a fiver now for the same sized jar.
When you break the seal on the jar you get a yummy waft of coffee, the smell is proper rich and even though I could tell straight away that this isn't Kenco it does smell a lot nicer than I thought it was going to.
The coffee granules are quite bit and I didn't think they was going to stir into the water properly, they are fine though as long as you use boiling water and you won't get any bits floating about on the top of your drink. The smell of the coffee when you've added the water is a bit bitter and I think it's a shame because it's smelled soooooo yummy before the water was put in!
The coffee tastes nice, it's not as yummy as Kenco I don't think but I can deffo see why so many people are buying Tesco Gold because it's half the price of Gold Blend but just as tasty. You know something, this doesn't taste all that different from Gold Blend and it just proves what I've known for ages and that is that Nescafe coffee is just a big time rip off!
This has got a smooth flavour and I've drunk quite a few cups of it now and can't find anything to complain about with it. It hasn't got the same flavour as Kenco but as a cup of coffee on it's own it's a proper bargain. I would like it to be a bit richer but it goes down nice and tastes even better when it's got 2 sugars and cream in it! lol
Recommended...... nearly half the price of Gold Blend and tastes proper nice!!!
