      Very helpful

A cheap and easy way to create great tasting fancy hot drinks at home.

I bought this as a treat for my boyfriend, who is a cocktail bar manager. He loves playing around and being creative when concocting drinks, and he is also a big fan of coffee to perk up again after those late nights! This syrup costs £4.00 for a 250ml bottle, and can be purchased from Whittards stores on the high street or online at www.whittard.co.uk. There is an ongoing special offer that allows you to buy three flavoured syrups for a total cost of £10.00, which will save you £2.00 overall.

Whittards describe this as "A wonderfully spicy way to intensify your coffee." Gingerbread Flavour Coffee Syrup is exactly what it sounds like, a flavoured syrup that you can add to coffee for a bit of an extra kick. These types of syrups are very popular in coffee shops and can really make a difference to the flavour of your drink.

It comes in a clear glass bottle which allows you to easily see how much is left. The bright orange coloured liquid shows through and it grabbed my attention on the shelf. Gingerbread is one of our favourite treats and it looks very appealing - we couldn't wait to give it a try.

Directions for use: Mix one teaspoon (5ml) of coffee syrup into hot coffee and stir well.
After making your cup of coffee as you would normally, all you have to do is stir in a teaspoon-full of this syrup mixture. The smell of the syrup is gorgeous, it gives a good hint of how it will taste and gets you looking forward to the flavours. Once it's been mixed in to the drink you can really taste it, even over strong coffee. It's a rich and spicy flavour that warms your mouth and is very comforting. The gingerbread flavour is quite authentic, and although it is strong it still manages to blend in with the flavour of the coffee to give you unique tasting drink. Your coffee becomes transformed and you will never get bored of it!

Not only is this syrup good for using in coffee, but it tastes great in hot chocolate and gives a spicy kick to an ordinary cup of tea, which then tastes a little similar to chai. It would be perfect of using during the festive season, and is just what you want on a cold evening to warm you up and invigorate you!

Because you only need to use such a small amount the 250ml bottle lasts for ages, and is good value for money. This is a cheap and easy way to create great tasting fancy hot drinks at home. I'd definitely buy it again and will be looking at the other flavoured syrups that Whittard have on offer.
