      **** Howl's Moving Castle - 3 - Hayao Miyazaki ****

This book is basically pictures from the movie. The original novel was written by Diana Wynne Jones and the screen play was written and directed by Hayao Miyazaki. Like most manga books you have to read it from right to left. There are not very many words in each strip so it is easy to follow once you get your head around it being backwards. In my opinion the book is suitable for all ages as there is no adult content and the pictures might encourage children to give reading a try.

There are four books in this series by studio ghibli and this is the third one.

Graphics - In my opinion these are really good. Some of the pictures are really detailed and the colours used are good.I love how the colours used in the art work help set the mood in the book so that you can tell if something is happy etc .

Story line / originality - I think that this is quite original.
Lifespan-something that you will want to keep forever!!!!

      ** Story so far **
When Sophie gets saved by a handsome stranger from soldiers her life takes an unexpected turn. She returns home to be met by the witch of the waste who puts a curse on her.Sophie, unable to tell anyone about the curse leaves town and ends up living in a moving castle..... Sophie takes up a position as Howls cleaning lady. She makes friends with a demon who has been turned into fire and is somehow connected to Howl.He is the only one that seems to know that Sophie is under a curse.Magicians are turning themselves into demons in order to fight the enemy, but when Howl gets summoned to the Queens castle we find that there is an enemy much closer to home.
The start of this book has Sophie and Howl fleeing the castle for their lives. They manage to shake the enemy off but how long will this last for?Sophies mother visits and leaves a bug in the house.the witch of the waste(now powerless after her powers are stripped) destroys it but is this all Sophies mother has done? This is definatly the climax in the book and it leaves you wondering if the story is going to have a happy ending or not.

      ** Where to buy **
As i have said before unfortunately these titles can be harder to get especially the further along you get in the series. You can buy them from Forbidden Planet or bookstores such as Waterstones. If the book shop doesn't have it in stock they will often be able to order it in for you. Also available from Amazon.Another thing to say is that if you like the series you may just want to buy a book with the whole story as this will be cheaper.

      ** other info**
These books are usually around the £7 mark but can sometimes be bought on offer ie three for the price of two.
      isbn number-9781421500935

      ** Other products in range**
There are other versions of this book including an art book which is around £20.There is also a movie, which is really good.
