All Star Batman and Robin - Frank MillerFrank Miller misses the mark again (1125 words)

Once again Frank Miller takes on Batman and adds to the universe he has created with batman Year One, The Dark Knight Returns and very poor Dark Knight Strikes Back. In the All Star Batman and Robin the Boy Wonder (a curiously camp and frivolous title) Frank Miller takes us to a period between Year One and the Dark Knight Returns to rewrite the history of Batman and Robin. This graphic novel is collection of issues 1-9 and introduces Robin into the equation of this Batman universe. The book picks up three years after the ...

Before opening this graphic novel I was instantly drawn back to 15 years ago when I was drawn into the brutal and captivating story that Frank Miller wrote and pencilled in The Dark Knight Returns. The Dark Knight Returns was ground breaking in its day and is said to have been single handed in bringing back the entire Batman franchise starting with the Tim Burton series and now with Christopher Nolan. Its presence is still felt today, hence the Dark Knight title of the latest movie. So imagine how all of us fans felt when we heard there would be a sequel to such a milestone in comic book history with The Dark Knight Strikes Again. Frank Miller is the man that gave us ...
