20th Century Eightball - Daniel Clowes

Premium Review GreatBall! (Worse pun ever?) (263 words)
by DanooMak19 - written on 15/02/01, updated on 15/02/01 (Useful, 24 readings)
Rating:

Eight ball is a 32-48 page comic written and drawn by Daniel Clowes- it has been going for good few years now and is currently being published- at the speed of about one copy a year! by pvincent - written on 07/07/00, updated on 17/02/05 (Very useful, 40 readings)
Rating:

This book is a wonderful evocation, by Daniel Clowes, of teenage friendships - their highs, their lows, and the tragic way they sometimes end, not with a bang, but with a gradual drifting apart as the friends take their separate trajectories into adulthood. First serialised in Clowes's "Eightball" comic (and being made into a feature film at the time of writing), Ghost World is the tale of two friends, teenagers Enid and Rebecca. Enid is prickly, streetwise, rather eccentric, and not "conventionally attractive" (you just KNOW she's going to be a Punk at some point!), whilst Rebecca is blonde, pretty, and much less idiosyncratic than Enid. ...
