Limewire

Limewire is a P2P file sharing programme that allows you to download music, videos, images etc. There used to be many of these sites floating around, however, this is the only one that I have come across which is free nowdays. Saying this, Limewire is an illegal site and the government are clamping down on these sites. I have known one ... person to receive a fine through their door for downloading on Limewire.
Considering this, Limewire is not worth the trouble.
The site has to be downloaded onto your computer, you can choose the basic version or Limewire Pro, I have never purchased Limewire Pro as it seems pointless. The Limewire icon is then downloaded onto your desktop for quick access and it opens up whenever you turn your computer on. How annoying!!
The site opens as a large search box, with a search bar at the top of the screen and a large empty space which fills up with the files available for download. You can also access you library to listen to the files that you have downloaded and to move them into, for example, you Itunes folder.
I find that it is difficult to find the music that you want on Limewire, I have been searching for Skindred songs for a couple of months and nothing seems to be coming up. Also, a lot of files turn out to be a virus or something completely different to what you wanted. However, if you do find the right file, the majority download very quickly and are usually very good quality.
The site itself tends to slow my laptop down drastically! I struggle to open anything else with the Limewire search engine open on my laptop and it freezes constantly.
Overall, I would say that the site is definately not worth the hassle it causes! If you only want 2 songs, you are better off buying the songs off Itunes. However, if you are downloading bulks of songs, this site could benefit you, I would not recommend downloading it though.

Vuze combines a unique interface with easy mobility around the program, allowing the user to easily change and alter anything they need to. It is possible to change the ports that the program uses to download files, helping the user to circumvent any port-blocking by their Internet Service Provider. You may find that, depending on your ISP, you have to change the port slightly every so often to maintain the best download speeds.
Vuze also uses a simple method of searching, with handy aesthetic features to highlight the strength and popularity of a file via colour coding. For those who aren't familiar with the differences seeders and leechers make, this simple yet effective guide is invaluable and helps to speed up the searching and downloading process. The program can also show a range of different columns such as progress, number of seeds and download speed, providing the user with plenty of information to help them understand what they are downloading and when. Thankfully Vuze can be set so you are not overloaded with information and you can select as many or as few columns to be shown as you want.

Legality

The software itself is completely legal and can be used to download a vast database of legally accessible files, from videos and movies to music and e-books. However, if you want Vuze then I doubt you want it for the B-movies available. I'm sure you'd want it for the "slightly" illegal files that are uploaded by others. Though Vuze can be used to download these files they hold no liability for doing so, making you liable for what you download. If this doesn't bother you then Vuze is fantastic for downloading pretty much anything and everything you could ever want, from Hollywood blockbusters to the latest games and software. Please be careful if you do download illegal files that either it's not against the law where you are or that you aren't going to be caught if you do!

Video Converting

Another of Vuze's features that will interest a lot of people is its ability to convert any video or movie file into a format suited for a wide variety of devices, such as a PS3, Xbox 360, iPod and iPhone. This process is so simple and works so well that it makes Vuze an invaluable tool if you watch or even own any of the afore mentioned devices and more. Though this could be done by a separate program, the ability to download a file, convert it and transfer it all in one program is a nice little extra.

Overview

As a peer-to-peer torrent client, Vuze is almost peerless. Its closest competitor, uTorrent, may be smaller in size to have installed but with modern day hard drives often exceeding 150 GBs that really shouldn't be a problem. And for the additional size you do get a more aesthetic interface that is easy and quick to use and includes several features not found with uTorrent. Personally Vuze has never failed me and has always had everything I need without fail. For serious users or casual users, I cannot understate how much of a benefit Vuze would be and highly recommend it to anyone.

Google Chrome

Well, well, well. It seems that Google really are taking over the internet world...And I have no problem with that. This web browser is fantastic! It has a simple layout, rarely crashes (more rarely than the others I have used) and I would select it over Firefox or internet browser absolutely anyday! This review isn't going to be very ... long, as there is only so much i can talk about, but i ill do my best!
When this was first released I was sceptical. I had been a IE man for years, and couldn't see past it, but, IE froze on me a few times and at particularly annoying points, so I couldn't resist trying something new to avoid it not working. I downloaded this and straight away I was impressed at how quickly it downloads. It didn't take long at all (about 2 minutes, literally!) and then it was good to go.
The browser is fast and has lots of nice features. I like the way that the history is nice and easy to access, so you can easily and quickly get back to any webpages that you want to. Also, i love the way that the address bar is also the search bar! This is a great idea, and i cannot believe that it hasn't been though of/done before. And, when that is linked with the power of google, you can get lightening quick results, with amazingly relevant and useful links.
Overall, i love google chrome. It puts everything you want from a search engine into it, and then it runs smoothly 99% of the time (well, nothings perfect!). I would recommend trying it if you haven't' thought of doing so already. I did and i wouldn't think of using anything else, and most likely won't for the foreseeable future!
