Computer Associates' FAXserve for NetWare and GroupWise is an essential companion product to Novell's GroupWise. FAXserve's transparent integration with GroupWise allows users to easily send and receive faxes in the form of e-mail with or without attach-ments, directly at the GroupWise Universal Mailbox. Attachments to outbound e-mail will be automatically converted to images and sent to your fax recipients. FAXserve for NetWare and GroupWise is the first and only solution to combine integrated GroupWise faxing and desktop faxing with popular Windows applications such as WordPerfect, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Lotus AmiPro into one solution. Whether in GroupWise or Windows applications, users fax quickly and easily without switching between applications. Gone is the need for users to learn a separate fax interface. Network administrators no longer need to install and manage a network fax application and a sepa-rate e-mail fax gateway. FAXserve for NetWare and GroupWise consists of NetWare NLMs, a Windows client administration tool, and a Windows Rendering Agent. The gateway works in conjunction with GroupWise 5 or GroupWise 4.1 and communicates with the GroupWise Message server to obtain the messages ready to be faxed. The Rendering Agent then converts the e-mail message along with the associated attachments and submits the resulting facsimile to FAXserve for transmission. The Rendering Agent converts attachments by launching the associated application and generating a rasterized image of the document. The transparent integration of FAXserve and GroupWise allows for quick and direct distribution of faxes to recipients' GroupWise Universal Mailbox. FAXserve supports inbound routing via DID, DTMF, Novell NEST, "Postmaster" routing, and Line Routing. Over 100 leading international modems and communication devices (class 2/2.0 external modems, intelligent fax boards, and multiport serial boards) have been certified to run with FAXserve for NetWare and GroupWise. FAXserve supports up to 32 fax lines, maximizing your communication bandwidth. FAXserve supports Novell's NetWare Directory Services (NDS), affording network administrators the flexibility to configure FAXserve users and services for the entire network from a central location. FAXserve's support for NDS further enhances integration with NetWare 4 security and GroupWise e-mail services.
