When an Impressive new site came out at the beginning of 2000 called Napster which enabled you to download music for free, everyone went wild. At school all I heard was Napster this and Napster that, as non-Internet user at that point I was wondering what they were banging on about. Near the end of 2000 I finally got the internet (which I love) the first thing I did was Download Napster.

As a new user to the Internet I found Napster quite difficult to use. With the help of my friends I finally got to grips with it as I did that there was talks of it closing down (typical). But I found with Napster to many songs I tried to download became erroneous, and I couldn’t download any of the new songs which came out.

In the end I gave up with Napster and thought nothing about it thinking it was going to close down (it still hasn’t).

So as you do I went on with life, I went to my friends house and he told me about a new site which you can download music called Kazaa. I reluctantly downloaded it thinking it was going to be the same as Napster.

I found that Kazaa was much better than Napster because not only can you download music you can download music videos, images, documents and software.

The layout of the Kazaa desktop is very easy to use if you have trouble here is some help.

Start – You click on this and you are taken straight to the kazaa homepage.

My Kazaa – This is where all of your media files are kept whether it is music or videos. You go here so you can play your music or watch your videos. If you click on a song you can see which album the song is from and how long it is and you can also rate the song Very good, good, average, bad or very bad which is a help to someone who is uploading off of you .

Theatre – This enables you to play your music videos which of course is handy if you’ve downloaded any.

Search – This is the section where you
search for the music (audio) to download you can also download videos and software. When you download videos you can also get a clip from your favourite television show. Videos can take a long time to download.

Traffic – This is where you can check how your downloads are doing also you can see if people are uploading songs off you. One of the best things about kazaa when you are going to go offline you can pause all of your media your downloading and it will be saved so you can continue downloading the next time your online. You can search for artist, title or all (which is all songs from the artist or title).

Those are the five main sections in the kazaa desktop. If you want to delete a song right click the mouse on it and it will come up with a list of things that can do.

You can group your music (audio) by artist which is excellent so you can see how many from each artist you have.

Another great thing while you write your dooyoo ops you can listen to your funky music which I’ve just been doing.
