Advantages: Use templates and multiple photos while avoiding Ebay fees. In-built photo editor.

Disadvantages: Expensive for those who list only 1 item a month. Windows only.

If you are a regular online auctioneer then 'Listing Factory 2008' may well be the tool for you.
'Listing Factory 2008' is the ideal replacement for Ebays' templates, and for creating 'cut and paste' listings for use in other auction sites (I have used it successfully to list an item on eBid with no problems).
With LF08, you get a whole range of templates with updates available every now and then. You also get 100Mb of hosting for your item pictures.

How easy is it to use?, well, fire-it-up and the program automatically opens a listing creation screen prompting you for a project name, from here, you can either opt to use the wizard, or go straight into the editor proper. The wizard is probably the easiest way to create a listing, allowing you to first of all select a template and then create the item title and description. Within the description are embedded place-markers for such things as 'About Us', 'Postage' & 'Returns'. When you preview your listing these are automatically filled from elsewhere within LF08, but have no fear as you can edit the various sections under the 'Policy Editor' tab, and you don't have to include all of the policies in your listing.

When done with the item description, clicking the 'Done' button at the bottom of the panel takes you straight into the add-a-picture section, from here, you can add as many pictures as you wish. It is here that you can watermark your pictures to prevent anyone nicking them for their own auctions. As the photos are not uploaded to Ebay, but loaded across from LF08's server, you save on extra picture fees.
If you think the photos need a bit of adjustment, then there is a basic photo editor built in to LF08 that can handle picture rotation, coluor balance, brightness, contrast & picture re-sizing.
When you are happy with your listing, you can finalize the whole thing & then either list direct to Ebay, or copy the HTML to paste into another auction site (in theory, you could also drop the code into your own ecommerce site if you so wish). LF08 automatically copies the code to the clipboard, so all you need to do is drop it in to the auctionsites listing editor with a quick paste.

If you like to use lots of photos to illustrate your item, then you will soon save the £25 cost of the program. As listings generated with LF08 are hosted elsewhere, and the HTML code automatically dropped into Ebays listings editor, you save 7p per listing just by not using an Ebay template.

I was never drawn to this type of program in the past, mainly because of the complexity of some of them, but LF08 really is easy.
Unless you are a wizard at coding your own templates, and have a site on which to host them, then this is a good solution.
