MSN messenger has been out for a while. I have been using it for about 5 years now. Its great for keeping in contatc with people who you live so far away from. With added features of using a webcam or a microphone, you can make it that much personal.

MSN messenger has had a number of face lifts, in order to keep it looking "Modern". Its relativly easy to use.

When you first start, you need to add contacts before you can start talking to them. This is easily done by using the add button at the bottom. All you have to do is type in the persons email address and then just what for that person to accept you on their side (this is assuming that they have messenger). Online contacts are green adn offline contacts are red. You can only talk to on line contacts. Double click on the contact you want to talk to and then type your message, hit send and it arrives to them in a second. you can see the conversation taking place in the white space above where you type the message.

Now messenger allows your to customize the way you want yours to look. You can change the back ground picture, give yourself a picture to be displayed to your contacts. There are websites where you can learn little tricks with messenger. You can also download add-on's that change the whole appearance of they way messenger looks. you can even play games with your contact. They not the greatest, but offer a lot of enjoyment.

they even offer messenger on the internet. instead of downloading the program, you can go to http://e-messenger.net/ then log in the normal way. (this is good for at work, as some employments dont allow downloading of internet content) This is slot slower and takes time to respond, and some times you have to refresh what is on the screen so that it can all be updated.

Overall MSN messenger is great program, it a way its better then email, because you get a response straight away as that person is there. As with email, you have to wait for the person to respond.
