Advantages: Add-ons, Themes, Security, Speed and Easy to Use
Disadvantages: Can become slow if you use too many add-ons and Google Chrome is now a competitor
Firefox is a web browser available for Windows, Mac and Linux operating systems and can be downloaded from the Moziilla Website.
So why Firefox?
Firefox has been around for a long time and each day come closer and closer to taking over the web browser market from Internet Explorer which comes as standard on most PC's. Firefox is know for it's speed and security whilst browsing the web and has thousands of add-ons to aid this.
Add-Ons: There are thousands of add-ons for Firefox so you can customize to look and do what ever you want. Here are a few of my favourites:
*Ad-Block Plus: this is a great add-on and I recommend it for everyone using Firefox as it blocks pop-ups and annoying adverts on websites giving you a better visual experience without the annoying ad's. The great thing about it is that if you visit a website often which has extra adverts bordering the page you can set a filter for Ad-Block to block them from appearing.
*Google Preview: this add-on integrates with your Google searches to provide small previews of the web page before you click on it down the left hand side of your search. This comes in useful when you know what the web page looks like but can remember it's address.
*WOT: Stands for Web Of Trust and is a great security add-on which integrates in Google searches and uses a traffic light system to tell you how dangerous a website is. (red for dangerous, yellow for be careful and green is just fine) This helps to give you an idea as to what the website will be like and weather downloads from it will affect your PC. All the information is provided by the WOT team and reviews/ratings from it's users.
Firefox also has a whole array of themes to suit any theme your PC already has. It has updates extremely frequently to ensure any bugs and security issues are fixed and there are also updates for your add-ons which improve them adding new features all the time.
After going from IE to Firefox a fair few years ago it has become clear why so many people are making the same change for a more secure and faster browsing experience. Anyone who is still using IE I would really recommend considering this or Google Chrome which I have also reviewed and is on par with Firefox.
Thanks For Reading
Summary: If you still use Internet Explorer you should really consider this.
