Thunderbird is an E-Mail client from the producers of such an excellent software package as Firefox. It is a very simple looking program looking very similar to Outlook Express in format. You can download themes so that you can get the software looking just as you want it. On installing it will link your E-Mail to the Internet Explorer toolbar making it easy to check your mail whilst browsing. The Icon/ Emblem for Thunderbird is an Envelope shrouded by a bluebird, pretty much in the same vein that Firefox has a fox shrouding a globe. To get Thunderbird you can simply Google "Thunderbird" and you will be presented with various option sites ... Read the complete review

For those of us who are not happy with Microsoft's monopoly on PCs and laptops Thunderbird 2 (by the makers of Firefox) is a great alternative to outlook, with customizable add-ons and skins just like its web browsing brother. Due to thunderbirds open source roots means that thousands of experienced developers and security experts have worked to help in the development meaning it is one of the safest mail daemons available today. The second release comes with two new features: message tagging, which allows you to tag messages with descriptions, such as important, work, to do etc. The second is an improved search facility that speeds up searches within display ... I use Mozilla Thunderbird (from the makers of firefox) as my main email client instead of the usual outlook, outlook express or windows mail. Interface - Overall Thunderbird has a relatively similar look and GUI to it as the outlook software which means that it is simple to use and get to know, but does not have that much exciting about it. Accounts - You can easily add as many email accounts as you want and it is very easy to check them all just by clicking the "check all" button. Organisation - Thunderbird lacks a built in calendar which is a bit of a pain, but you can get and use a calendar from elsewhere. It is easy to ... Read the complete review

Mozilla's Thunderbird is an excellent application - much better than Outlook or Outlook Express. If you've never tried it, simply download it for free from the Mozilla website. Installation only takes a couple of seconds and you can even import your existing email settings from Outlook or Outlook Express. One of my favourite features is the ability to add tags to a message. A tag is a bit like a keyword, it's a way to describe the particular message. In my case I have several colour-coded tags: Red = something I need to do (for example something I need to reply to) Green = something I've done (eg, an email that I have replied to) Purple = ... Mozilla Thunderbird was first released in 2003, just a year before it's sister web browser Firefox. Thunderbird hasn't had quite the success story as Firefox, but it's widely used around the world, converted into 37 languages, it's available for most to enjoy. Version 1.0 released in 2004 had 500,000 downloads in just three days, and hit the million mark a week later; showing to the creators that they were doing something right. Thunderbird's close rival; Microsoft Outlook (once Outlook Express) continues to take the lead market share for the e-mail program market. The people behind Mozilla have always had safety in mind for their users, and that's exactly ... Read the complete review
