Ipswitch WS_FTP Pro

Small and easy is how I like to describe WS FTP. Downloads these days more often use HTTP but FTP is still the most robust method. WS FTP, written by IPswitch, contains all the features you could need for easy up and download of data. I will only use WS for uploading large (>30Mb) files because it is so reliable over latent connections giving a full report of speed and volume transfered that is accurate. Ws_ftp is a reasonable piece of free software for uploading or downloading files. I've been using it for about a year now, and although there are simpler, and also more complex programmes around, this one has a good balance of features. It's not too complicated, and still has all the features you may want from a "file transfer protocol" proggie. I wasn't that experienced with computers, or FTP (file transfer protocol) when I started. I started using this server when i had to transfer some files from one computer to another on my network.
