The dooyooCommunity Guides are active dooyooers who are experts in their categories and all things dooyoo. They are a great resource for new members finding their way around the site, or even for longer standing members who have specific questions about dooyoo. Guides also help us to keep an eye out for abuse on the site, reviews that have been posted in the wrong category, and of course those extra special reviews that deserve Crowns. If you have any questions about the site, how to improve your reviews, which category you should post your review in, or anything else dooyoo-related feel free to contact any of our friendly dooyooCommunity Guides.
Hi,
I am the new guide for audio and hi-fi. My expertise in this area is limited, but I think a good review speaks not just to the experts, but to the average reader as well.
You don't need to be an expert to review your new mp-3 player, speakers or earphones just tell us what the item does, what you like and dislike, and be sure to include any information you wanted to know before you bought the item - or wish you had known before buying.
Of course expert reviews are welcome as well - including all the techie info that is way over my head, but please include a bit for those of us less technologically gifted. Remember many consumers, like myself, read reviews on items they know next to nothing about to choose gifts or help family members choose.
If you disagree with my rate, do let me know. I am willing to admit if I make a mistake, perhaps I just need to give it another read. Most often though I rate down because I feel the review needs more information. If you can edit that in - I am happy to change my rate.

Hi there, I'm Raffi and I am the new guide for Banking & Finance, a category which includes everything from credit cards, mortgages and bank accounts to insurance. Whilst it may not be the busiest or sexiest category on DooYoo, where we put our money and what we do with it is fairly important to most of us.
I'll be looking for reviews with plenty of personal experience. Tell us what you like and don't like about the products that you use. It's all about helping others make more informed decisions.

Reading books hasn't become an obsolete hobby (yet). If you're a bookworm, tell us about the books you've read. Praise the brill ones, make a hatchet job of the bad ones - in short: give us your opinion! But never, ever, tell us the whole plot, that's an absolute no-no hereabouts.

Hi, I am Kimberly. I am a published writer myself with 6 nonfiction books and several short stories to my credit, and am currently working on a novel. I am happy to share advice and provide feedback for DooYoo reviews, BUT PLEASE DON'T ASK ME TO READ YOUR MANUSCRIPT. Like most authors, I am VERY busy trying to get my own stuff completed and out there in the printed world. Instead, check out a copy of every writer's Bible, the Writer's Handbook. It includes directories for current publisher information as well as tips on getting published and elements of style, so go for the most recent edition.

Hey, how did this happen???? Oh well, seeing as I've been here over 10 years I suppose I ought to contribute a bit more than a few well-meant comments here and there!
So, what do I know about Computers? Well, I suppose I must have picked up a few things in the 37 years I've worked in IT. Mind you, as I'm now retired I thought I'd put all that behind me! But, if you feel that you would like some advice or guidance then that, it appears, is why I'm here. So, don't be shy; get in touch and I'll do my very best for you.

Hello! I'm gentle, but not always a genius and am here to lend a hand to Drewster-Rooster as film guide. I'm a great film fan and have no genre preference, so long as whatever I watch is well-acted and interesting.
I love to read other people's film reviews where the author gives masses of personal opinion, but for me spoilers are not on, nor are just lists of statistics with no opinion.

Goodbye Household Appliances and Hello to films!. I'm Drew, the new Film guide and am thrilled to be watching over this category. I love films, especially horror (the gorier the better!) so will enjoy reading all the reviews that all you lovely dooyooers will be adding.
My top tip for film reviews is to go easy with the plot (spoilers are a big no-no unless flagged early on in a review) but include lots of opinion, tell the dooyoo community what makes a film a must-see or one that we should avoid, oh and please don't reveal the ending of a film or give details of any twists that they may contain as that cheeses me off big style lol

My favourite reviews are those that are engaging, readable and packed with opinion. A touch of humour combined with a good standard of spelling and grammar is also a winning combination.
Huge lists of features, histories of the companies or detailed investigations into ethical policies probably aren't that useful to the consumer and can be a bit yawnsome to read. What really matters is what YOU thought of the product.

As an avid traveler myself I'm always interested in the experiences of others. 2009 Itinerary - three trips to my flat in Slovenia; so far (in July) one trip to Barcelona, and trips planned for Dublin (October) and a trip to Hameln in Germany (November) and Croatia and Bosnia and Slovenia (in September)

My name is Carol and I am the Video Category guide.
I am looking forward to reading reviews on all video products be it the latest HD or 3D TV, DVD player, BluRay Home Cinema System or DVD recorder.
Important things to remember when reviewing a TV set in particular are connections (how many HDMI/SCART sockets for instance), picture quality, sound quality and what kind of tuner it has...not everything just has a standard definition Freeview tuner these days and consumers need to be able to find this information easily in a review.
This an exciting time as HD and 3D TV take off and one which finds consumers actively seeking out reviews for these products before purchasing.

I've been a gamer for over 30 years and owned lots of different machines: a Commodore 64, Amiga A500 and A1200, Sega Megadrive, Playstation One, Gamecube, Gameboy Advance, Wii, DS and PS3 to name just a few! I also spend far too much money downloading games for my iPhone and drool over every new console that comes out.
