1. I'm new - what's dooyoo all about?
dooyoo is an informative online community for people wanting to make better buying decisions. Members publish reviews on the site about products and services they've used. Other members then rate those reviews so that you'll know exactly which are the most useful reviews to read when you want advice about a product. To reward our members for all their great contributions, members earn dooyooMiles every time they post a Premium Review on the site AND when other members read their reviews. dooyooMiles can be converted into cash, Amazon.co.uk vouchers - or you can even donate the money you've earned to charity. Membership is free so why not join the community and start earning today!
2. How do I find my way around the site?
Categories:
dooyoo is divided into product categories for ease of navigation. You can access our most popular categories using the navigation menu at the top of the page. Hover over the 'More' link in the navigation menu to see more product categories, or click the link at the bottom of the list to view the sitemap. The sitemap is a complete listing of every category on dooyoo, so it's easy for you to browse the extensive dooyoo catalogue.
Search:
If you already know what you're looking for, you can also use the search function in the navigation menu (at the top right of your screen) to look for an item. Just type in the item you are looking for, or a keyword, and hit the 'search' button. dooyoo will display all possible options that are listed in the dooyoo database.
Quick Links:
Above the navigation menu there are four links - Community, Register/My Account (depending if you are logged in or not), Login or Log out (depending if you are logged in or not), and Help.
Community:
'Community' will keep you up to date with dooyoo news, new members on the site, dooyoo Guides, top reviewers and reviews and much more! It is a great source of information and well worth checking out.
Register or My Account:
If you're a member, the 'My Account' link located at the top of the screen above the navigation bar will take you to your personal dooyoo homepage called 'My Account'. Here you can view all of your dooyoo statistics, including how many reviews you have written, your average ratings, and how many dooyooMiles you currently have. If you still haven't signed up, you'll see the 'Register' link instead. Ready to join the friendly dooyoo community and take advantage of the fantastic dooyooMiles rewards system? What are you waiting for? Register here.
3. How do I become a dooyoo member? What does it cost?
Well firstly, Membership is completely free! To join, just fill in this registration form and we will send you an email containing a link to activate your account. The form takes around 2 minutes to fill out so it is quick and easy.
4. I have created My Account. When can I login?
As soon as you register, by filling out the brief registration form, a confirmation email is sent to the email address that you have provided. This email contains a link to activate your account and to log onto the dooyoo site. If you do not receive the email from dooyoo after a few minutes, the filters on your email inbox may be set to treat dooyoo emails (since they are automatically generated) as 'spam', or junk email. Try checking your spam/junk mail folder to make sure the email is not there.
If you still do not receive the dooyoo account activation email, please contact the dooyooTeam.
5. How do I login?
There are two easy ways to log into dooyoo: you can click on the 'Login' link on the top right of the screen in the navigation menu and be taken to the 'Login Screen', or alternatively, you can enter your Member Name and Password into the fields that appear on the top left of the homepage.
6. I have forgotten my member name and/or password
If you have forgotten your password, please go here. We'll send an email to your nominated email address with your dooyoo username and a link to select a new password.
7. What happens if I change my email address?
It is important that we have an up to date email address for our users so that we can contact you, for example if you forget your password. Don't worry we will treat your personal details with the utmost confidentiality and will not contact you with advertising material or anything else that you don't need! To update your email address, log in to dooyoo and go to 'My Account' (you'll find the link on the top right of the page, above the navigation bar). Once in your 'My dooyoo' homepage, click on 'My Details' link in the left hand menu. You'll be able to update your email address and any other personal details there. Remember to save the changes by clicking the 'Submit' button at the bottom of the page.
8. How do I delete My Account?
Members can't delete their own account (because of legal reasons). dooyoo is legally responsible for all content, so we're the ones who need to have control of the big red delete button!
However, should you want to delete your account for whatever reason, please contact the dooyooTeam.
9. What is 'My Account'? Where is it located?
'My Account' is where you can view all of your dooyoo information and manage your account, profile, and reviews. You can access 'My Account' by clicking on the link at the top right of the navigation menu.

11. How can I inform dooyoo of possible abuse or a bug on the site?
We are always happy to hear from our members. If you want to contact dooyoo, the best way to do so is to click on either the 'Contact the dooyooTeam' or 'Report a Bug' links (that appear on the left side of this page in the navigation). We want to hear from you - send us your comments, concerns or criticisms.
12. How can I keep informed about site updates?
The Community Area is where we here at dooyoo announce updates, changes, news and more. The Community homepage is updated daily so make sure you check back regularly to stay up to date.
13. I am a very sneaky person... What should I know about dooyoo so I don't get banned for doing something dishonest?
If you read our Terms & Conditions, you'll notice that we can block your dooyoo account for anything we suspect is against dooyoo policy. Generally our members are great, but we do sometimes have problems, particularly with dishonest generation of dooyooMiles. There are several situations that will cause dooyoo to block your account for dishonest generation of dooyooMiles.
The first is what we call a 'clicking cartel', where many accounts work quickly to generate dooyooMiles for one member, or each other. It's not a bad thing, of course, to read all the reviews of your favourite dooyoo authors, but over the years there have been some rather complicated schemes along those lines. All we can say is don't plot with your friends to rapidly rate each other's reviews - it isn't the purpose of dooyoo and it doesn't work.
Also please don't create multiple accounts. dooyoo can identify when a user has multiple accounts and it isn't allowed, especially not when you use one account to generate dooyooMiles for the others!
Sneaky reviews that just scrape in over our premium review limit (150 words) but do not contain 150 words of genuine consumer review, instead being padded with lists, repetitions, or other non-relevant material are also counted as abuse. We probably shouldn't have to be specific but just in case; for a recipe or food review, for example, a list of ingredients is fine but only if there are at least 150 words of genuine review. Similarly, repeated sentences (or whole paragraphs!), using punctuation to reach the minimum word limit, or some other kind of 'word limit fraud' is considered abuse.
Last but not least is 'rapid clicking'. This is when you click as fast as you can through a friend's reviews to generate dooyooMiles for them. While everyone sometimes clicks through a review quickly if it wasn't what you were looking for, if it becomes a trend (and you do it many times in a row) your activity officially becomes dooyoo abuse.
If you have any questions or concerns about what is or isn't abuse, contact the dooyooTeam and we'll clear things up.
14. We're a company. Can we join dooyoo? Why would we want to?
dooyoo is primarily for individuals to post their reviews about a variety of products and services. However, companies can register on dooyoo under certain conditions:
- You make it very clear that you are officially representing your company. This can be done by contacting us or simply using your company name as your dooyoo member name.
- You cannot review products or services, especially your own.
The main reasons for a company to have an account on dooyoo are:
- You can respond to any reviews concerning your product/service by posting a comment in the comments section of the review.
- You can suggest products to be added to our database (within reason - this service is primarily intended for members who want to review new products).
There are limited opportunities for a company to be active within the dooyoo community; this is because dooyoo's main focus is the consumer and we wish to remain an independent and unbiased source of product information.
15. How does dooyoo earn money?
First and foremost, dooyoo does NOT derive any income from selling your review content or personal data. dooyoo never reveals member information, email addresses, or any other information that you have supplied to us in confidence to third parties. So where do we get the funds to support all of your dooyooMiles rewards? dooyoo earns money through its partnership with online stores who participate in our price comparisons and have links on the dooyoo website as well as from online advertising. All merchants that are involved in dooyoo understand that we are offer real, unbiased consumer reviews (both positive and negative) to help our users make more informed purchasing decisions. dooyoo facilitates smarter shopping for consumers by consumer and we do not receive any income for skewing the review results on our site.
