I own the Danelectro Dano Pro in blue and have been using it for the past year.
As I teach guitar lessons to children in my spare time, my Dano isn't being used for performance as such, unless just to my friends at home. The children I teach really like the look of this unique guitar and I frequently get told how "cool" it is! And it certainly is a "cool" guitar. Its shape is reminiscent of the guitars of the 1950s and this is also reflected in its tone. The slightly hollow tone is consistent with this 1950s vibe, making it perfect for playing the blues or classic jazz songs.
I've found that playing heavy rock solos on this guitar can be very challenging as the (albeit gorgeous) shape of this guitar makes it difficult to reach the higher frets. I am only really comfortable reaching up to fret 14 without having to move my thumb parallel with the neck (but I do have small hands!). Someone with longer fingers may not experience this setback.
Overall, the simplicity of this guitar is perfect for the casual user who enjoys playing songs centred between frets 5 and 12. I imagine anyone buying this guitar is buying it for its looks, not its technical abilities and that is exactly how I would describe it: the Dano Pro looks stunning, but it may let down the stunning player. Perfect for beginners, perfect for blues rockers and perfect for anyone who wants to make a good impression!
I absolutely love this epilator and have used it on and off for the past two years. They sound a bit scary when you first turn it on and yes it does hurt (I would compare the pain to having a tattoo) but as you carry on with it the pain does subside.
I use this epilator on my legs and underarms. Underarms!!?? you say?? yes it hurt like hell the first time I used it on my armpits but again the more you do it it becomes less painful. I have dark hair so if I just shaved all the time I found that I would get a dark shadow under my armpits where I had to shave.
When I epilate it takes away the shadow look as it pulls the hairs out from the root and the entire hair is removed. My underarms feel so smooth look great and also take 3x longer to grow back so less time shaving/epilating so is a timesaver too!
On the legs i love it as its smoother and also doesn't grow back so quick! Also another bonus to this is the fact you don't pull of any skin so if you have a tan you keep it longer, when you shave it takes off skin and tan and when you wax also can remove tan so that is another bonus. I love it but would also like to have one that can go in water as would be great and less painful I think.
I am loving the new ranges that Radox are making at the moment. I have tried them all.
> Bottle <
An easy to use, squeezey bottle that comes in a 250ml bottle.
It stands up with ease and the opening is facing down so all the gel slides down to the bottom. No more shaking the bottle up and down and almost causing a neck injury in the shower.
The bottle is easily noticeable as it is a bright letterbox red.
> Smell <
The smell is glorious. If you are a cherry lover this is a great shower gel for you.
It says that it contains cherry and citrus oils. Personally I cannot smell the citrus oils. Cherry is such a strong smell that it probably overpowers it.
It is uplifting and fun and lasts a long time on the skin. I got to bed smelling my arm because it smells so nice. It reminds me of the cherry drop sweets I use to have when I was younger.
It is a unisex smell and everyone can enjoy it.
> Use <
Radox Cherry Blast Shower Gel lathers lovely especially with a loofa. All I need is a little bit of gel squeezed onto my loofa and within no time it is completely covered in lathered gel which is great because that means you don't have to use a lot of it.
> Value <
You can normally pick this up for around £2. Whenever I have shopped for a shower gel I have always seen the Radox range on for £1 which is an absolute steal! I never have to use a lot of this gel so mine lasts ages.
I had a rock hair style and always wanted the back comb, crazy effect that comes with it. My hairdresser recommended what she called "resurrection dust" to make this happen without the need to backcomb my hair (back combing puts strain on the hair and can make it dry and damaged).
I came across Schwarzkopf Got2b Volumising StylePowder and wow is it good.
> The Bottle <
It comes in a small 10g bottle but you won't be needing to take this out with you to re-apply.
> Use <
Depending on how matted you want your hair you can use it one of two ways (how I do it):
1. Separate the roots you want matted and put the powder on your fingers (you won't need a lot). Put your fingers under your roots and move them up and down, this will give you a small matted look that you can easily style. Style hair accordingly.
2. Put the powder directly on the roots you want matted, once applied push your fingers up and down. This give you an extreme matted effect.
I have done both and me personally the extreme matted look was a little too much for me.
What I like about Schwarzkopf Got2b Volumising StylePowder is that if the hair falls down, which happens a lot especially if you are out clubbing, all you need to do is push the hair up again and you have the same style that you left the house with. Its amazing!
> Powder <
The problem with resurrection dust is that it can get messy. If you get a little on your palms and then work your hair it can get the ends matted (as it mattes on instant touch of hair) which can be a nuisance if your trying to get ready to go out. Be careful when applying and once finished using the powder carefully brush your hair (NOT THE ROOTS) to make it smooth (if that's the look your going for).
It doesn't leave you with a funny smell which means you wont have to spray your hair with tones of perfume, which is great because no one really wants to do that anyway.
Obviously putting anything on your hair can make your hair dry and I found with Schwarzkopf resurrection dust that if I haven't washed my hair, the morning after my hair is dry and unmanageable but it is easily washed out.
> Value <
Good value for money. It can be picked up at any good retailers like Boots for less than £5.
> Conclusion <
I haven't tried any other resurrection dust because I have never needed to. Schwarzkopf Got2b Volumising StylePowder has done the job well so far.
I bought it since years ago for my birthday ( thirty years old).
It certainly is a huge improvement of existing sound that comes out of my LG 47 inch smart Tv (although to be fair to LG,the tv's sound is not as bad as some) My main purpose to purchase this soundbar was for its good connectivity ie bluetooth to other family gadgets like I-Pads and the like and the fact the Tv does not need to be on at all for the soundbar to function with the other gadgets ect. The only slight niggle is if you want to change any functions of the soundbar itself (other than basic volume and connection inputs) you really need the Tv on to see any detailed changes you want to make to the soundbar settings. Connection directly to a router via cable or wireless works without any problem. If you are a novice then its also no problem,no complicated set-up procedure.
Sound wise, well its not as good as a real 5.1 surround set up, but the sound that comes out of the speaker is robust, solid and clear. It is located in a fairly large lounge/diner room and fills the room with no problem. The soundbar lenght wise is about 46 inches,so compliments my LG Tv at 47 inch perfect.
There is no problem on this sound bar, very robut and solid one. you can purchase it without a doubt, don't care about this. You can use it with a large widescreen TV.
On principle this is a fantastic item and it really would change your viewing habits if only Humax would sort out the serious technical glitches. If it wasn't for the freezing problems this product would get 5 stars without a doubt. Our box 'freezes' on an almost daily basis which means we have to turn it of and on again to reset it, this means we have lost loads of programmes we were recording because it freezes half way through. It also means that we cannot rely on it to record if we go on holiday etc. We have contacted Humax about this although we got no reply from the e-mail address and it took a while o get through on their customer service line. The eventual response was that they knew all about the problem and that there was nothing wrong with our box but had something to do with them having the wrong technical codes which get confused with the tv signals, they assured us that the problem was being dealt with and that it would be rectified soon. That was three months ago and nothing's changed yet. The digital guide is ok but a little slow and you have to wait for about half an hour for it to reload everytime you reset it. You also have to set your own buffers as the programmes are recorded by their original timeslots and make no allowances for overruns which happens more often than not these days so you can get the end of you progamme cut off unless you remember to manually enter a buffer. When it does work though its brilliant, being able to record two programmes and watch another has stopped loads of arguments and pausing live tv is a godsend when the phone goes! The memory lets you store loads of recorded stuff and its easy to find it all. The picture quality is also excellent but we live within three miles of the Holme Moss transmitter so we have an excellent signal strength so we've also not had a problem with missing channels etc. We've not yet been able to dispense with the old VCR entirely but I would absolutely recommend PVR but not Humax until they get the glitches ironed out.
As Dj discomobile I buy two MSR 400 for use on the front.
After 3 years of use, no failure to state! These are very powerful speakers at a suitable price, high reliability if did not mistreat them.
-Various Positions For Use (standing, sleeping, standing, front or back ...)
-Very Good finishes
-Aigu / Medium Bass and adjustable
-Of Suitable for bass speakers
-Pique Eardrums at acute high yield, and the settings on the speakers there will be nothing for you to reduce acute upstream!
to conclude :
A good speaker that we do a Yamaha, powerful and reliable, only 450 € that is not nothing, this speaker is at the height of its price and competition largely markets other speakers in the same range, with its advantages and drawbacks.
I love the So...? fragrances, I've been using the body spray since I was a teenager and So...? Sinful has to be my favourite.
> The Bottle <
The packaging box is nice, compact and very attractive looking. A nice little gift for someone.
The bottle sizes range from 30ml, 50ml, 75ml and 100ml (so I have seen) so you can vary your sizes. The 30ml is a great handbag perfume and can fit contently in a clutch bag for a night out.
> The fragrance <
The fragrance is a variety of smells which really packs a punch. Pineapple and mint for the top notes, heart notes are a mixture of violet and strawberry finished off with base notes of dark chocolate and vanilla.
It is a very strong smell and you can tell when it has been sprayed. Unfortunately I found that So...? Sinful although strong, it doesn't seem to last very long which is a shame because it is such a lovely smelling perfume.
A smell I would say for the evening or night time, it can be a little overpowering if you are wearing it in the daytime.
> Value <
Definitely good value for your money if your strapped for cash. 50ml bottles are available at boots for £5.24 with 100ml bottles just £10.48.
> Conclusion <
This perfume is a must have for the handbag. I have said it doesn't last long but it is strong enough to make an impression and to get you smelling nice.
I first bought this when I was going to a music festival as I would struggle to wash my hair properly while camping. I bought mine from my local supermarket for £1 as they had a special offer on for 150ml can in the original fragrance.
The can itself was really brightly coloured making it easy for find in my bag with all the other products I was carrying. The can is easy to hold as it's not to large.
The first time I used it I found it really easy to use, once I sprayed it through my hair near the roots and brush it through. My hair felt instantly lighter and had a lot more body and felt soft, it wasn't quite like my hair is once it's been freshly washed but it did feel and smell much fresher. I used curlers on it a few times after using it and it easily curled and it left no residue on the tongues from the spray.
I would recommend this for camping or to save some time in the mornings, its leaves your hair a lot cleaner as adds body too at the same time. My daughter often uses this if she wants to do hair styles that need the hair to have texture for a hair style as she finds that washing it can leave her hair too smooth and soft to create the styles she wants.
Far from being a technophobe I must admit to leaving the purchase of a Blu Ray player a bit late in life. I've been enjoying HD tv for years now so finally bit the bullet and bought a Blu Ray player.
My dilemma was where to start. Like mobile phones and contracts, it's a bit of a minefield out there so apart from the usual "googling" I had a browse on Amazon.
What I like about the site is as you browse you get recommendations for other similar products so therefore narrows your choices down a bit for you. I tried not to get too swayed by all the HD & HDMI jargon, just simply a player that was suitable to my TV's resolution of 1086. I learned that there was no point buying an all singing, all dancing player for £500+ if the resolution on my TV wasn't that of the player. This is what I like about independent reviews and I would say the same in that this product serves my TV very well.
I chose Samsung as my TV is Samsung and know that the controllers are compatible with each other.
The player is very easy to set up & took me all of 5 minutes. As I had no Blu Ray dvd's I tried out a few standard ones and was pleased to see that the playback quality is better than that of a standard dvd. It did mention this in the write up and has proved to be correct.
However, on seeing Blu Ray playback I was very impressed! The clarity and sharpness is perfect. Sound is another issue and this will depend on your set up but my 2.0 BOSE speakers come into their own. Great cinema quality!!
In summary, if this is your first purchase and want a basic player for a good price then go for it. I highly recommend!!
I was given this as a birthday gift this year and have now worn it for a few months. The Bruno Banani watch is housed within a plastic strap, of higher quality than the plastic used for Breo watches but still causes my skin to become sweaty at times if I'm wearing it on a hot day or for a prolonged period of time.
The large face is clearly laid out and of a very modern design, the hands sweep smoothly around the face and I'm happy with the bold design of the watch markings and also the thick hands that draw the eye to the watch.
The time is never incorrect and the battery lasts forever, surprisingly long considering the bulk of the hands that the battery has to move around continuously.
The purple shade is very bright and modern, it could be a unisex watch as described but I feel the size and width of the strap is too large for the sort of women who like to wear more delicate or less obvious watches.
For myself a can't fault the watch and have been a happy recipient of it. It's a basic watch that says it's fun not serious, I have watches I would wear in place of this one for certain occasions as this is in no way a formal watch and in my opinion is best worn for casual occasions such as an evening in a beer garden with friends. It may make your wrist sweaty so be warned about that, if you can cope with a damp wrist and like a full on watch design then you could do worse than look at this model.
This is the newer version of the MFC-8860 from Brother, and is a step up from the MFC-8480 as the 8890 provides full duplexing on scanning, copying, and faxing. The MFC-8480 only provides duplex on printing.
I have Macs--several of them--so I've been looking around for a while for a multi-function laser machine I could use for printing, scanning, copying, and the occasional fax. I'm thoroughly impressed with this machine so far, and following the install from CD, everything just plain worked. The printer driver was installed, it included a fax option right in the driver itself (on one of the print option tabs), and so was the TWAIN driver for scanning, and so was their ControlCenter software, which provides access to all the settings for the printer, documentation, and a bunch of customizable presets for the different functions of the printer (most useful for scanning different kinds of documents to different apps on the Mac, including an OCR capability).
The duplex is great--the auto-document feeder reads both sides of documents for copying, scanning, and even faxing. Most less expensive models (like the 8480 and a Canon MF4370 I recently tested) will only duplex on printing, but the 8890 will both read and produce 2-sided docs for any function.
Network capabilities for Macs is also top-notch, with both wired and wireless network capabilities, you can use every function of the machine over the network, with seemingly quick transfer rates, even high-res color scanning. By the way, my previous favorite printer vendor, Canon, does not support network scanning to Macs on ANY of their multi-function printers, but this is not apparent until you buy one and try to do it--their support has since told me this is true.
The screen success of Mick (Crocodile) Dundee is based, quite literally, on nothing. Nothing is the thing that Dundee, in the disarming person of the Australian star Paul Hogan, does best. Mr. Hogan's calm, unflappable reactions to the various facts of New York City life were the comic foundation of ''Crocodile Dundee,'' turning its mild, genial humor into box-office gold. It would be natural to expect more of the same from ''Crocodile Dundee II,'' but the sequel often lacks the sense to leave well enough alone.
''Crocodile Dundee II,'' which opens today at Loews Astor Plaza and other theaters, is noticeably longer than the first film, and it's less enjoyably lazy. This time, stranded in New York, Dundee has begun to grow restless, and the film itself shows a comparable malaise. This is apparent right away, in the scene that shows Dundee up to his old outdoorsman's tricks, dynamiting fish in the middle of New York Harbor. The police arrive, and when they recognize Dundee they shake their heads with rueful admiration, as do a group of children in a playground scene moments later. It's a danger sign when a character is allowed to grow lovable in this way.
The plot - and that's the main trouble with ''Crocodile Dundee II''; it has one - soon involves Dundee with a Colombian drug kingpin. This mastermind, named Rico (Hechter Ubarry), has kidnapped Sue (Linda Kozlowski), the stylish Newsday reporter with whom Dundee has now moved in. So the screenplay, by Mr. Hogan and his son Brett, must trump up a reason for the abduction, let Mick Dundee do a lot of worrying as proof of how much he loves Sue, and otherwise create too much unremarkable action and too much of an actor's role for Mr. Hogan, whose great gift is for offhand humor. Only late in the film, when he has returned to Australia and begun playing practical jokes involving bats and alligators, does Dundee have much chance to shine.
The film's first hour, the one set in New York, also has quite a touristy tone. There are urban caricatures for Dundee to marvel at, street scenes that would warm the heart of any travel agent, a tour of Bloomingdale's (where Dundee has a brief chance to use his woodsman's skills), and even an official tour guide showing off ''the legendary New York City subway.''
These episodes are very welcome, since Mr. Hogan remains a likable fellow under any circumstances, even when John Cornell's direction is so slow it takes the snap out of the actor's comic timing. But too often, Mr. Hogan's amusing moments give way to the tedious, overacted exploits of the drug kingpin and his henchmen, who have their headquarters in a suburban mansion and who smirk endlessly about their ill-gotten gains. The kingpin remains a large part of the story even after Dundee and Sue have fled to Australia for a change of scene.
The Bridgestone Blizzak has many qualities to it and is great for an overall good type of wheel but the tyre wheel is to thick and heavy slowing down the car. overall great product.
The Forever Glowing Jennifer Lopez Eau de Parfum is available for GBP 27.00.
The Eau de Parfum is described as follows. "Jennifer Lopez presented Glowing, a soapy-fresh woody fragrance, in 2012. A year after, she launches its first flanker Forever Glowing, a chypre–floral composition. The new edition is described as a light fragrant breeze on your skin and wind in your hair. The composition starts with accords of saffron, white pepper and white honey. The heart captures fresh flowers of neroli and creamy jasmine tones, all blended with suede. Patchouli, iris, toffee caramel and vanilla form the base.
the bottle is simple and basic but functional with an absolute highlight, which it then provides the Aha effect. As soon as you press the spray button lights up on this. Somehow funny I found this at the beginning of my tenure, which also easily seduced to me to push again. Over time, however, I think at least, this blue flare, silly.
Glowing is the further development of the first Eau de Parfum from Jennifer Lopez, Glow, which I have sometimes favored for some time. While the glow me as beautiful, clean scent is remembered, but was no longer buy from me because I felt it at some point as this is soapy perfume slightly different yet special. Glowing reminds me of a sea of flowers. I smell out especially the lily of the valley, violets, bergamot, mandarin and a touch sandalwood. The smell is very very light and fresh. It gives me a feeling of security, because it somehow reminds me of my mother. It fits for me, especially for spring and summer. It smells very warm and friendly and a little playful. I'd rather wear it during the day because it is very light. I find the fragrance lasts a long time. I only wear it once in a while, but like him really like, I've only just as many perfumes.
