      Very helpful

      Not great but ok

When it comes to sauces and things like that not only do I love them so I buy them often but because of me consuming such alot of them I do try to cut down in this area what I spend rather alot.

This Asda Smart Price mayonnaise was only 38p a jar and that jar is 500ml (and the only size I have seen this available to purchase in by the way) and that is the reason why I bought it....I simply thought it was worth the taste test for such a large size and small price tag!

      The Packaging:

Well the jar it comes in appears very basic. It is glass one with a screw on/off white lid to the top of it and the labelling on the front is black, red and white and we are simply told that it is Asda Smart Price Mayonnaise, the size is given (as I have stated already) and we are told that it is suitable for Vegetarians. On the back of the jar other information listed includes ingredients and allergy advice being given, we are told how to store it and given a nutritional rundown chart and contact details for Asda are given. Very basic looking jar this is however it is informative as it needs to be to be fair to it and for me its always the product that counts anyway!

      The Mayonnaise Itself:

Reasonably thick and white in colour I was and still am impressed by its consistency and even when I put it on hot/warm food it doesn't melt too badly and it is glossy in its appearance without tasting too greasy at all. However for me this isn't creamy enough or eggy enough in flavour and is rather sweet and vinegary...actually a tad too much so for me. It isn't awful and does offer reasonable value for money but for me is a tad to sour though the consistency and appearance of it are rather good but just don't expect Hellman's quality at this price...it is what it is and it sort of serves its purpose!
