My little grandson is almost 2 and a half years old, I tend to spoil him a little with little gifts because he was my first grandchild and I waited a long time to become a grandma. His grandad spoils him too and he is a DIY man who is always making things for my grandson in the same way as he did for our own children. I tend to buy little gifts as I go along and put them away in my cupboard because I do not want him to expect a gift every time he visits as I tend to think little ones then sometimes don't appreciate gifts so much. So when we saw this tool from ELC, I just had to buy it because it was just what we were looking for at the time, so I bought it.

I actually bought it half the original price and I only paid £4. Amazing price in my opinion. It is a power drill with 3 drill bits. The drill is made of a really sturdy plastic and is black in colour. It has a yellow trigger button and a yellow switch on the back for forward and reverse actions. The drill bits are grey and are a good size and are made of a sturdy plastic too. 1 is a flat screw driver bit, 1 is a cross head screw driver bit and the 3rd one is a socket bit for nuts and bolts. The cross head bit only works with the build it range from ELC. I actually didn't realise at the time of buying this drill that it was purposely made for the build it range.

The drill takes 2 AA batteries, it is secured into the drill by a small locking screw so the little ones cannot access the batteries and is completely safe. The drill is a good size and the chuck of the drill turns around just like an adult drill, the drill bits just push onto the end of it. It is light for a child to hold and use as an adults drill.

My grandson loves this drill and he role plays with it around my home and garden, he has seen his grandad use a drill and so has got the idea how it works. He also thinks that he is doing the same handy work my hubby is doing with his DIY and it is a really good toy to have fun with. It is designed for the age of 3 years plus. My grandson is 2 and half but it is safe for him to use with the supervision of an adult because of the bits as the little ones tend to place small objects in their mouths as we all know. The bits are not tiny ones each one is approximately 3 inches in length and quite chunky.

When the trigger is being pulled the whirling sound of the drill can be heard and it actually does sound like a real drill. It keeps my grandson amused and happy because he thinks he is using the real drill.

The drill has a flat base and so it can be also stood upright if needed. The main body is approximately 6 inches. Because of the sturdy plastic the handle can be easily held in the hand, also it is light too and so it is not too heavy to carry around and play games etc.

I think this toy is an amazingly good one, it is safe and ELC manufacture good toys for the little ones. I think it is well built and I highly recommend it for anyone to buy for their little ones, also a good idea for a Christmas gift or for a birthday. Because it is black in colour a little girl can also role play with it because lots of girls like boys toys, so I think it is suitable for both sexes.

I am happy I bought this for the price and I think even at the full price, it is still worth every penny in my opinion.

      I give it 5 stars.
