Bausch and Lomb Screw Top Lens Case
by Loubielou82
Purchased a couple of these little contact lens cases from my optician the last time I was in buying contact lens solution. I have collected various lens cases over the years and find that they are handy to have as I like to take my lenses out for short periods of time when my eyes become dry and uncomfortable later in the day. ...
These Bausch and Lomb cases cost me £1.50 each from the optician and i was pleased with the quality of them. The are not thin and flimsy like some of the other more expensive cases that I have bought in the past. Instead, these are made of a good thick material which feels sturdy and would easily withstand the odd drop on the floor. The case itself consists of two wells with screw on lids. The lids have an L and an R on the tops so that you put the lens from each eye into the corresponding well and therefore cannot get them muddled up when you put them back in again. This prevents any infections transferring from one eye to the other and any confusion if like me you happen to have a different prescription lens for each eye.
I also find these cases particularly easy to clean, simply soak them overnight in some boiling water or saline and they are fresh and ready to use again.
Overall these are handy little cases which are reasonably priced. Read the complete review |

Allergan Lacri-Lube
by Loubielou82
As somebody who suffers from extremely dry eyes, my optician recommended Lacri Lube to try and combat the problem.
This comes in a tiny tube and looks as though it would not last 5 minutes however looks can be deceiving and I find that one tube of Lacri Lube will easily last me for a month. I apply this product to my eyes ... last thing before I go to sleep. It is a very thick gel and I apply it under my bottom eyelid then immediately shut my eyes to keep it in. It has the consistency of melted Vaseline so can be a bit messy if you miss your eye. If you open your eyes after putting this in, you will find that your vision is blurred for a while however this is normal as the gel is coating the eye and getting to work.
I have been using this for many months now and find that when I waken up, my eyes are refreshed and comfortable instead of dry and irritated like they were before. Read the complete review |

Superdrug Saline Solution
by Loubielou82
I purchased a bottle of Superdrug Saline Solution when I recently had an eye infection and the doctor had advised me to bathe my eye twice a day with saline.
Previously, I have always made saline myself by boiling the kettle, letting it cool and then adding salt to the water. I was never 100% sure that my home concoction ... was completely sterile and it was quite time consuming to do. Thanks to Superdrug however, I no longer need to do this. This product comes ready to use straight from the bottle. Just squeeze onto a cotton wool ball and bathe away. It is very convenient and is well worth the money for the price. I also feel happier knowing that the product is completely sterile and safe to use.
This product would also be ideal for cleaning cuts, grazes or bites and I will be making sure that I always have a bottle of this in my medicine cupboard now as you just never know when it will come in handy. Read the complete review |
